Word is that UCF will fire/hire a few position coaches. The school will try to promote the firing of position coaches as a positive step (sacrificial lambs) and something that is needed. Obviously, it’s on the head coach but that won’t be said.

Malzone will not find a viable OC to work for him…it will never happen. A new DC is badly needed as Addison Williams is terrible, but UCF will have to settle for a Ted Roof type if Malzone makes a change there.

Mohajir hired and then extended Malzone last year after going 6-7. Mohajir’s career is tied to Malzone’s UCF fate. Attendance, criticism and donations will play a big role here. Ultimately, the biggest UCF boosters (Euliano, Repole and a few others) will decide what will happen…right now, it doesn’t appear that guys have the willingness to spend the money for the HC change.

Again…Mohajir will never push for Malzone to be fired, quite the opposite…Mohajir is doing his best to convince everyone that Malzone can turn things around.

Fire Gus

@Bring Back Wackadoos just wants to b*tch and take shots at UCF's great coach. Everybody knows Gus is in the midst of turning this thing around. This talk of retiring is a joke.

Who is the best College Head Football Coach today

Some friends and I were talking and the topic of who is the best coach in college football today. I will say, many had a hard time with saying more than 1. After some of the key retirements, departures for the NFL, and lack of success at new locations. Is there an active GOAT or GOATS?

Second Question. If Money wasn’t an option. What current HC would you love to have at UCF?

Gus will never give up his offense. He’ll point to having a top 10 offense (yardage). Our biggest issue is defense, but agree that our offense can improve. Give me top 10 in scoring offense over yardage.

We have to get faster LBs. Ethan Barr may be a thumper vs the run, but has been a huge liability vs the pass and gets picked on constantly. We’re a just a step slow on finishing sacks. Watching QBs scramble for 1st downs on 3rd or 4th and long has killed us all year. We can’t seem to get off the field even when we’ve dialed up good pressure on the qb.

We also have to improve on Special teams. STs have been atrocious every year. Every game….Long returns on kickoffs and punt returns, converted fake punts, multiple blocked Field goals, penalties…..our special teams have been horrible every year. We’ve lost a lot of close games where a play here or there on special teams and maybe we win the game.
From what I understand, we don’t have a coach dedicated solely to special teams. Brian Blackmon shares his duties as tight ends coach as well.
