Gus still doesn’t believe that somebody that can pass forward can succeed. He is in shock.
Not only in shock, he's a cross between not believing what he saw and still trying to digest it. And no smiling at all....but then It's hard to swallow your pride when you know that this whole season has made you look like a fool. When you put the wrong players on the field and have to suffer through a 5 game losing streak before you fix the mess you made, it's a failure on your part. This whole season will be summarized with this reference to Rizk, Jones and others....."he's been patiently waiting for his time to come". It took way too long for Gus to recognize the problems, realize who his best players are, make the changes and still be called a good Head Football Coach....way too long.
