All the threads on Coaching.
I get it, our options are not amazing - but at this point I have convinced myself on Frost.
1) We can get him at a relative discount
2) He has rehabbed under one of the best Coaches and offensive minds in the NFL
3) He brings in young talent and opptunity we want to see at our Coaching positions.
4) He is hungry. Yes he failed at Nebraska - but many, many people learn from failure and come back with a better understanding of how to move forward
You cannot convince me Sumrall or Odom are better hires or have any greater chance of success than Scott Frost. Frost will have some relatability with recruits too - these kids will have been~10 years old watching UCF football go undefeated for two years with Frost starting both UCFast and UCFierce (and potentially players from both sides of the ball on staff???).
Save for a Coach like Matt Campbell - I’m not sure I can even convince myself I want anyone else now. I don’t believe we could get a better “deal” on Oregon’s or Penn States OC with any better chance of success either and certainly a lot less connection with the young alumni.
San Diego Knight was right about a lot of that crypto, and he is also right about this - let’s get the band back together. GKCO!
