This is my favorite piece of Black American History I’ve learned recently. Since we play Iowa State this year, I invite you to learn more about Jack Trice from Iowa State. The only college football stadium in the country named after a black man.
He was only 21 when he died from injuries sustained on the field as the first black athlete to play for the Cyclones.
