actions speak louder than words and even better when they're in sync...

we were told that FL would be the primary focus of our FB recruiting....so far that is true.....

way to go Frost and Coaches....do what you say and say what you do!

Yes he has delivered on his word. I still wish we could attract more of the Orlando HS talent to UCF. Too many of the good ones still going elsewhere. But Frost is doing his part in trying to keep them here.

These stars thooooo..........Frost might need to slow down. He's probably in awe of all this Florida talent that he's offering everybody. These 2 stars are accepting.

A relevant quote...

Brandon Marshall and Blake Bortles were 2 star athletes as well.

I'm elated we're keeping our FL boys home. I'd like to see us keep more of the O-town players here but give Frost some time, I'm sure he'll make it happen.

Frost knows his system. And this isn't the first time he's been through recruiting either. He's lining up what he thinks will succeed for us long-term.

If we get into an issue with over 25, then we'll deal with it. But I don't think he's doing the wrong thing here. He's getting in early, and selling them on his vision.

38th ranked class for an 0-12 G5 school is unheard of. Regarding the Orlando HS talent. Remember, a lot of kids actually want to go away to school. Some pretty close like in Florida and some far away.

Agreed, 38th is awesome considering 0-12 and G5. I hope we can maintain momentum to the February finish line.
Honestly, over 60 or 70 would be expected. Even the mid to high 50s would be the norm when we were good. That's rivals. What are we on there?

We are 58th on Rivals which is giving no stars for 4 guys: Castillo, Washington, Pitts and Gabriel Davis. They each get 2 or 3 stars on 247.
That's lame. They don't even recognize them. Basically off their radar which is most likely an oversight on their part. Lack of comprehensive early research. A "0" star is a guy who is basically a starter or less. Nothing special.

I'm thinking they will each have some stars on Rivals at least during the upcoming season.

What an awesome week for UCF football. A WR, ILB, OLB, and G/C all commit from the recruiting trail. Also, a 4 star safety transfer (who enrolls this year, so "commits" in 2016), and a possible 2016 DT add on from UVa. Wow! Not to mention other quality players who visited campus this week and may get on board: i.e. Adams, Pierre and Thompson.

Remember though, most recruiting services give credit for quantity too...hence why UCF gets a lot of credit for having 12 commits, even though 7 of then are either 2 star or ZERO star rated recruits. (Plus, some services incorrectly are crediting a 2016 late enrollee as a 2017 "recruit").

Bottom line, as long as UCF is filling needs first, that is the most important in regards to the future and hopefully the next half of the class will be some "game changers" in regards to top talent.

Hopefully UCF will add up some W's this year...as all of these verbals right now are just that, non-binding till most sign in Feb 2017.

Is it though when some had little to NONE Div I-A offers...and another had just ONE Div I-AA offer (zero other Div I-A offers).

Yes, most will probably end up as a 2 star (rivals minimum for Div I-A signee) but one or two might have a chance to end up at lowest level 3 star (5.5), especially if they make waves during their Senior Year.

That's fine but you don't want a team of 2 star/O star players.
Er, um, sometimes I think you literally contradict yourself.

First you say George was wrong because he was trying to build beefy, defense-first, conservative, ball control teams with mainly 2 and 3-star players, and that we couldn't compete. You argued we should recruit fast 2 and 3-star players, and focus on beating teams with offense.

Now we have that, with Frost, and he's going after 2 and 3-star players that believe will work in his system. He gets in early with kids, and makes them feel at home, so they will stay committed, which was always a problem being UCF is a G5. And you're complaining ... about what again exactly?

Frost has utterly impressed me. Beyond the fact that he was a killer hire if we were going to go offense-first (I cringed when people talked about Dino et al.), he actually understands how to recruit and run a program like ours, in a G5, through just everything he says. He actually has a bit of George in him on some matters, even if his player-playbook is utterly different, which is what I think bothers you most.

I cringed when I kept hearing Dino as well. What did he ever do for the Flintstones? All jokes aside. Let's see who ultimately has a better overall program. UCF or Syracuse. Frost is so lucky that he didn't go to that stagnant program and we are lucky to have him.
Total surprise hire by Danny White.

The thing is ... Iowa State and Syracuse might be in denial, along with some Americans nationally. But UCF could pay more for his salary + staff, and he has a heck of a lot more opportunity to prove himself here.

If Frost ever moves on to another HC job, and if Nebraska comes calling, I would definitely and fully understand, it means his program worked here. I hope that happens, for both Frost and UCF. In any and all cases ...

Unless it's a failure with 2 and 3-star athletes, his system will outlast his tenure here. UCFast will be around for a long, long-time. I'm glad we have Frost and his system, even if I'm a bigger fan of conservative, ball control, defensive-first schemes. I was scared of who we might get to focus on offense, and was immediately calmed when it was him.

I couldn't stand the calls for Dino and others.

Ahh, I'm getting old. I don't know what I said before or if it coincides with what I'm saying now.

Who is going to run Frost's system when he leaves? I can't think of one OC.

Dino should have stayed at Bowling Green. He would have been Baylor's next head coach.

Do you even follow college football? Kelly's system? Briles' system?

In 3-5 years, if it works, there will be people to continue the program. Sure, he will take some coordinators with him, but the system will be established, and not everyone will move. If we don't promote coaches and hire new assistant coaches that maintain it, then that will be a failure on us.

But success causes adoption, just like with Kelly's system, just like with Briles' system.

I should ask you that same question. Kelly's(run based) system and Briles (modified Air Raid) system are not the same. Outside of Oregon and us, nobody is running this system. Our offensive coordinator doesn't even fully understand this system yet.

You missed my point. Kelly left, yet the system remained. ;)

Briles' system has been exported, so there's no reason Kelly's can't either. In fact, isn't that the whole reason we brought in Frost? That vision long-term, for UCF?

Thought I read such in the media too.

You are continually negative, and contradictory too. It's fans like yourself that scare coaches away. Let the man get a season -- better yet at least 3 -- under his belt before you start bellyaching.

Dual Threat QB from Nebraska just gave his verbal. 6'2" 180!

Awesome ! We have never been moving like this..... Ever. Join now or be left in the dark. Go Knights!!!
No I don't have a concern about stars.

Kelly was at Oregon for 6 years...so his system had lots of support/experience.

If Frost is at UCF for 6 years...most will be shocked...shocked...SHOCKED.

Kelly, after he was promoted from OC to HC, was already at the highest level (BCS/P5) whereas Frost is obviously not, hence why some think he might get hired away from UCF in a few years (or if he has a fast turnaround at UCF, even quicker).

Most obviously want UCF to be successful once again...and if he moves on...hopefully there will be a potential candidate (in house or not), that will take the reigns and run with it.

Agreed. I think 3-5 is far more likely.

At the same time, I get the feeling Frost is a guy that wants to leave a bit of legacy here. He won't leave unless it's the right position, or it's not working ... of course.

I don't see why this couldn't happen. Otherwise an abrupt shift would not serve us well.

We didn't remove George to put in another system "temporarily."

This post is so negative. Lighten up man!
