It hasn't gone away because we haven't shut down our borders. Should have shut down travel to and from China in December, Europe in January, and Mexico in 1982.
The covid 19 infection bell curve was mirroring the European nations and trending down until May--then our numbers rocketed up again.

Just wait it’ll happen in Europe too. The UK just began allowing people back into pubs and they packed in just like our young morons did. You’ll see the exact same resurgence because the reality is that you can’t eradicate a virus completely and COVID is highly contagious.
Agreed. The pubs are a way of life in England and they are pretty stubborn too, so basically it’s just a matter of time. I’ve pretty much surrendered to this virus. You basically can’t contain it in the United States. Thank God it doesn’t kill EVERYONE and fukc China!

Literally every thought on COVID around the world stressed the importance of protecting nursing homes as priority 1. Cuomo ordered COVID cases back into nursing homes - to the tune of 4,500 people.
I know people use hyperbole to assign blame these days but it’s not hyperbole to say that Cuomo is directly responsible for thousands and thousands of deaths in NY that didn’t need to happen due to that decision.
Because he gets non-stop praise even though his state was the reason the entire country shut down and was forced into a recession. Ive said from the beginning that everybody is going to get this. Nobody should be praised or faulted for it.
Pretty sure we are looking at exponential growth now. The only places that might reap the benefits of a vaccine are areas like mine where social distancing is a natural part of life.
The top of the spike was july 4 weekend related. it showed up 7 to 9 days later. the trend will be flat to slightly down for the next few days, Death rates are still fairly flat, which shows some of the increase in #s is simply doing more test, and most of the people getting it are under the age of 40.
People in the at risk group know who they are, ME INCLUDED, and need to do what they can to avoid getting it. Time is your friend if in that group, as more and better treatments have and will continue to become available, and hopefully a vaccine.

Deaths lag cases by a couple of weeks so we don't really know what july 4th will ultimately lead to. I'm willing to bet that it'll remain flat but we don't know for sure yet. I still think this thing is mutating itself into being just another form of the common cold.
