A 16 yr old girl in Chicago walks into a Walmart at 3 am and steals a machete and knife then calls for her 3rd Uber ride of the night and shortly after getting in the back seat, this girl starts hacking and stabbing this unfortunate 34 yr old Uber driver trying to make a buck late at night.

Because Uber obviously has a record of every passenger and location of vehicle, it's suppose to be safer for drivers vs taxi drivers who many times just mostly pickp up total strangers who wave them down and cab company has no idea who those passengers are.
Sadly, even have a record of a 16 yr old girl won't help a defenseless driver when they are bound to cause harm.
Allegedly some woman posted on Facebook that she was watching this girl stealing these knives, acting like a lunatic, called the cops, and received a big "meh".
