2 stabbed and are in critical condition in burglary at Edge Apartments by UCF

Both victims are in critical condition and suspects remain at large as all 3 local news stations lead with this story. (While most residents at the Edge Apartments are students, the 2 victims reportedly are not).

This is just the latest in violent crime just outside of UCF's front door.

Less than a week ago, a College Station apartments, a victim was shot in his bedroom during a robbery.

These attacks came less than a day when I noted in the Dungeon in response to others about USF's crime ridden neighborhoods just outside their front gates, about all the recent crime on and just off ucf's campus, yet Dr Hitt continues to be silent on this topic.

Some of UCF's leadership put their head in the sand as growing crime is surrounding their campus more than ever (violent crime at that), as it will only hurt the reputation of their great efforts to build up UCF to what it is today.

Do you know what the UCF Police jurisdiction is and if it is limited to on campus? It seems to me, that we could get a few extra dollars from the state and get a few extra officers to patrol the areas around UCF also.

UCF Police jurisdiction is only for on campus and the 3 affiliated housing complexes (it might be more now, 100% sure). All other apartment complexes fall under Orange County Sheriffs jurisdiction. Most of the apartment complexes will hire off duty cops to serve as security guards. From what Ive seen, they just stay in their squad cars to watch movies and occasionally drive around to break up parties when they get too big.

Gotcha. I supposed it would be a political battle to change the jurisdiction. If Orange County jurisdiction was decreased, the $$ would be decreased also and that won't happen.
