4.34 Forty Committed.... Gonna need a Bigger Clown Car

I am personally happy with this guy. I take him to mean we will continue to use an offense that uses Otis and his strengths and we could even use that style more if we rotate them. It's going to look like we have 1TE, 2RBs, and 4WRs on the field.

Any 100 meter times on this guy? We may have just rounded out a National class
4 x 100 meter relay without a men’s track program

Holy crap. I just looked it up. 10.61. This is sick
We have two 10.4 guys, Killins at 10,55 and a 10.61 guy. All automatic timing so this is no joke

This is what the kid said....."They said they see me as a deep threat. I actually run a 10.4 in the 100 meters. I'm very fast and can get behind cornerbacks. I'll play slot when I get there, run digs and out routes. Just get out there and run."

So.. this kid runs a 10.45 and Menard a 10.61

That’s what I was able to find as high school juniors. That’s with Killins and Ke’von Ahmad.

I had to check it all out again, because it’s so unbelievable that we now have 2 guys possibly faster than Killins and a 3rd guy nearly as fast.

Yeah he was listed at 10.61 like you said. After I read that he said he ran a 10.4, I looked and found track meet results that reported a 10.45. Just went and looked again and this is what I found.....

He was recently clocked at 10.37 in the 100 meters, which establishes a new record for his Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy. He’s claimed titles in the Georgia Region 5 Private 3A Class in both the 100 and 200 meters, plus the long jump.

The original HUDL reference has him at 10.34. Regardless of which of these is the most accurate, he is #UCFast!
[cheers]

Thanks! That’s sick speed. Especially if he’s a true football guy. Thanks for the most UPDATED data, I’ve been slacking on that.

Killins 4 years ago ran 10.49
Ke’Von Admad ran 10.47
O’Keefe ran 10.45
Menard official time was 10.61 (initially reported as 10.47)

Summary.....they are all fast and if the latter three can translate that track speed on the field like AK we are going to be dynamite

Wind-aided times don’t count. I think that time was with a tailwind of 4.0 meters per second and the legal limit is something like 2.0 or 2.2.

He ran a 10.53 or 10.55 I believe. Irrelevant anyway. They are all lights out fast.

Is this what Hescock said? Isn't this a 24/7 Hescock board?

Don't forget that Tre ran a 10.7 and a 4.38 40yd.........

Very interesting, worth the read........

https://www.trackingfootball.com/blog/13-track-field-events-quantify-football-power-speed-part/

100 METER DASH … The 100 may be the best outdoor event to quantify speed. The NFL Combine tests the 40 yard dash. While I have found the 40 yard dash to be a perfect tool for training sprinters, 40 times are often misleading. My best sprinters run 4.4, but there are some imposters than also run 4.4. For example, when considering the spreadsheet of those 95 players at Alabama, ten guys were rated at 4.4 in the 40. However, the 100 meter dash times of those 4.4 forties varied from 10.18 to 11.67. I have nothing against the 40; I time close to 10,000 40s every year. However, given a choice between someone who runs 10.18 and 11.67 in the 100, I would recruit the 10.18.
What is fast in the 100 meters? First of all, only consider times with two decimal places. Two decimal places indicates Fully Automated Timing (FAT). Hand-held 100 meter times are bogus and should never be passed around as factual data. I’ve had three guys run 10.4 in the 100. All three involved unreliable timers and with substantial wind. With that being said, if a freshmen in high school runs 11.50, he is probably the fastest guy on the football field in every freshmen game. If a varsity athlete ran under 11.00, he will never get caught from behind. Our FAT school record is 10.97, and we are known for our speed. The Illinois State Champion, Cole Henderson ran 10.53. Alabama has four guys who, in high school, ran 10.18, 10.37, 10.48, and 10.50. 36 guys at Alabama (2009-2014) ran the 100 in high school. 17 of Alabama’s football players would have set the Plainfield North school record. I watched Baylor destroy Oklahoma last week with their three incredible wide receivers, K.D. Cannon 10.32 (TX state champ), Antwan Goodley 21.40 in 200 (and basketball), and Corey Coleman 10.83 in 100. Coleman also high jumped 6’7″ and long jumped 22’1″. Corey Coleman caught 15 passes for 224 yards.

If you don’t have automated timing, just watch for muscular guys who win the 100, then ask them what football offers they’ve received. None of these guys ever slip between the cracks.

TrackingFootball says: The 100 is without a doubt what separates the true speed guys, even in a football sense. Of course it doesn’t always guarantee a guy can play but more often than not it isn’t a bad indicator. Especially when looking at running backs, cornerbacks and to lesser extent wide receivers the slower the 100 the more questions there should be about his football speed.

The key here is the Fully Automated Timing. (FAT). Hand times to 1/10th of a second are just way too inaccurate.

Just some examples of how fast our guys are:

Chris Johnson who some say was one of the fastest RBs ever ran a 10.50 100 meter
He ran a 4.24 at the combine

Our own Josh Robinson ran a 10.77 and ran a 4.33 at the combine.

Combine times I believe are FAT for the 40 yards.
However there is no reaction time and the clock starts at the player’s movement. At least it’s reliable and accurate. Hand times are a joke.

So.., it’s safe to say that UCF arguably has or will have some of the fastest players in all of college football . We already proved it with our LB Shaquem Griffin who didn’t have near the speed of these recruits and Killins. All of them are potentially sub- 4.3 guys.

FAT 100 meter times that aren’t wind-aided are the real deal and no one can argue those times.

From now on, when I want to know how fast a guy really is, that’s the info that I would like to have.

Ultimately, there are many fast track guys that play football and purely track guys that give football a shot.

Can that speed translate to the field and can they play football?

The list of guys who couldn’t is quite extensive

I love the speed. However, I don't think they will all get on the field together. If he has another solid year this season Killins will probably opt for the draft.

That’s the great thing about these undersized speedsters. You usually have them for 4 years. They are great college players, but very few play in the NFL

I highly doubt Killins declares after this year. Guys like Killins are few and far between (Tavon Austin comes to mind and he's a WR, not a RB.)

Agree, he doesn't declare early. Perhaps he could play at the next level if he bulked up a little, but then he would likely compromise his speed. Most of the shorter NFL players have more weight than AK, but not all. Also he could draw interest if he developed as a return specialist.

Our former OC Troy Walters played 7 years in the NFL.
