4th Military Class A Mishap this week alone

Old equipment, increased maintenance hours per flight hour, etc... I don't think people realize how many hours our aging airframes and engines, which don't get replaced as often, are taking.

The USMC is probably the biggest issue. They skipped on getting new SuperHornets and have many older helicopters, in order to get the F-35B/C (although the C was kinda forced on them) and MV-22, which will become their primary aviation, with a couple of exceptions (the MV-22 isn't going to replace all helicopters).

As far as the ROK F-15K, attribution happens. They were due. The F-15's attrition rate is exceedingly low.

On the other flip, the USMC losing an A/V-8B is common. It's attribution rate is the highest of any, current aircraft flying in inventory. It's a VSTOL, so that is expected.

I’ve flown on two IFEs in the last three weeks. Couldn’t retract the gear and had to dump fuel to land yesterday.

Aircraft are showing their age.

Stay safe.

Also two more aviators died last night, 5th class A mishap this week. Just crazy.
