NFL.com has a nice write up of him as a back-up/potential to develop into starter. As a negative "Opted out of 2020" and the injury, I kind of figured people would hold 2020 against players. Opt out, you'll have a lot to prove, and some like DJ Killings didn't get to prove it, they were just cut last year. Schneider and Big Kat also talked about, but not that favorably.
Guess in 2-4 years New Orleans can finally see their rated lower than Davis DT draftee on the field. Air Force, and the last few years the services haven't been too accommodating to the NFL in allowing draftees to play and work as recruiters (fulfilling service duties).
Then he is not being drafted unless one team sees it differently, but that is all it takes.

If I were an owner, I'd take some random bench-rider in the 7th round....or better yet, some random old man off the streets, just to F with people.

For what it's worth, Kiper just spoke volumes about Davis...a 2/3rd rounder if he hadn't gotten hurt.
Big fan of Davis hopefully gets a chance to make 49ers roster.

53 players drafted from MAC, CUSA, Mountain West, Sunbelt, and D2.
We should be poaching the top 5 upperclassmen from these divisions every year and piggyback off their draftability.
We benefit by having another player drafted, and we only have to have them for 2 years while the lower ranked school does all the *development* work for us. That's exactly what P5 teams are doing to us (DG, Bethune, JFlash, Titus, etc)
Would this guy qualify?? Wonder if we take a shot at him? They failed to mention in the description that he had 19 sacks!!!

I like him. Super athletic, has length and speed. I think he's more of a DE. Either way though we need help at both DE and LB. He needs to put on more size though, like 20-40lbs.
He should have 2 more years of eligibility.
I like the idea of taking FCS kids. They come in with a chip on their shoulder and have something to prove. Unlike former 4 stars we had in the past that have the mindset they are too good for us.
