# of replies about an attack in London, halfway around the world: 67

# of replies about an attack in your own backyard: 4

Any explanation why?

what else needs to be said about a guy that went crazy after losing his job and killed his previous coworkers/bosses?

Sure, or we could talk about what went wrong with this guy that moved him to a homicidal rage. Because his weapon could've just as easily been a knife, a car, an explosive device, chlorine from the pool supply store, or any of a number of other things we can condemn rather than focus on the actual problem.

That's a rather simplistic way to push aside the facts that someone was so mentally unhinged that he felt the need to use a gun to end the lives of his co-workers in cold blood.

What else needs to be said about some uneducated crazed nut jobs stabbing people?

Weren't 20 or 25 of those post yours from a personal spat with a specific poster?

Also, that terrorist attack's goal was to kill 100 plus people but some brave people put a stop to that attack in just 8 minutes.

Plus, the world was watching live on CNN the attack in London as it took hours to know that it was finally over but victims were everywhere.

Orange County Sheriff that showed up at the tragedy on Forsyth, knew within mins that it was a murder-suicide situation and survivors named the murderer right away.

If you need it explained why random terrorism is different from vendetta based violence where the victims personally knew the assaulter, then you are beyond hope for saving.

It was a rhetorical question, but I appreciate the response. "brown people are scary" was probably the biggest single factor in getting trump elected, I was hoping to get a little introspection going so people would realize that islamic terrorism is pretty close to the bottom of the list as far as things to worry about killing you. I could have posted stats showing numbers killed by heart disease, cancer, texting while driving or any other number of things, but those pictures don't get quite as much air time on the MSM so they would probably just get ignored. At least I got a couple replies with this one. Thanks!

I guess my real point is I'm tired of using terrorist attacks as an excuse to take away our freedom while not making us safer in any measurable way. If we would spend the money we waste on the TSA or DHS on the things that actually kill us, we would have an actual impact on our mortality rate and stop infringing on our freedoms.

Honestly this response is worn and tired.

Yes, we know "other things" will kill us sooner. No, it doesn't change the scourge of terrorism.

Going to your doctor and being told you have chronic heart disease which could shorten your life is awful.

However, Having your daughter and her mother attend a concert at 8 pm and hearing that their limbs have been blown to bits by 11 pm, and they spent their last seconds on earth is sheer terror, is catastrophic.

Oh and Trump was "mostly elected" since a bunch of voters in reliable Democratic states switched away from HRC to Trump since they had felt marginalized and utterly forgotten. But keep pretending it was due to these past Obama voters suddenly becoming raging racists. Whatever you need to do to contextualize.

That is true about Trump, the main reason he was elected was that he was not HRC. But a heart attack or cancer can strike nearly as quickly as a terrorist attack, and kill many orders of magnitude more people than terrorism, and can be combatted effectively without eroding our rights and freedoms. You are basically admitting that you know it is an emotional response, which I believe is not a great reason for basing policy on.

Feeedom is largely why we have people keeling over with heart conditions. The freedom to order unlimited Big Macs is the suicide vest of America
