A critical point in UCF's sports program.

The Orlando Sentinel's UCF beat reporter tells us why she thinks this
year is so important to UCF's future ... listen to our conversation
with Shannon Owens-Green on this week's Knightline Podcast.

Im just listening to this now. Jesus Christ, the show shoulda been called "Shannon Owens Green's Life Story". I enjoy this show but talk about UCF, PLEASE. Just wondering, what was the purpose of all those questions about her personal, professional life? Were you vetting her or something?

I want to know why she doesn't tweet about UCF baseball. During our game last weekend she was tweeting about Orlando City soccer from the osknights account. I have given up on her as a UCF reporter. I just looked at that account and nothing about the series against FSU and nothing during the basketball game today. Why even bother with that Twitter account?

Is there anyway to find her another job? Maybe spam her email account with senior sports writer jobs in bigger cities than Orlando?

In the interview, she's bitching about the demands of social media and how people don't understand the intrusion in her personal life. Shocker. Amazing how Iliana Limon Romero (particularly) and Paul Tenorio managed to make 10 times the contribution and somehow strike a work-life balance.

I was one that was trying to calm the masses that were coming down hard on her from when she wrote a dumb column all those years ago. Honestly thought that a second chance would be great.

She's really mailed it in this Spring. Iliana Limon and the Associated Press wrote up the recap story from the ECU-UCF game today. No references to the big baseball games against Florida State was sad. She just seems to want to write her minimum articles and be done. Part of the job today is Twitter. Plus having a presence there will get you more clicks (which is what you want especially for this medium).

We need a new UCF person in the Slant to cover UCF sports.

Paul Tenorio was great but because he was great...he moved on.

Why are we stuck with the Shannon Greens?

I was not a Sentinel subscriber before Ms. Owens-Green took over the UCF beat, and I certainly see no reason to subscribe now.

I honestly wondered when I scheduled
this what the reaction would be...
