GOL is the 2nd highest paid coach in the conference at $1.8M - I would be nice to get a new hire at $1.5M and have some cash to spend on coordinators.

Likelihood of that happening is slim. The next guy always gets an equivalent or bigger contract, or whatever the market is bearing. You low-ball, we'll get a low-ball coach.

It's nice to know we can offer approx. 2 Million to next HC.
Which says two things:

1) Now that we have good reason not to go with Keys as next HC, we
need to do an in depth search for next coach since we have a
very good budget for new and upcoming talent;

2) We need to get A.D. hired ASAP.

A couple of posters on here have specifically stated that we dont have that kind of money. If that was the case GOL wouldve been gone 5 years ago. I suspect it will be difficult in paying the next coach.

I thought the buyout was the problem. If we pay GOL that now, why would it be hard to pay the next coach around the same?

Buyout? You fire him bc of our zero tolerance policy for winless seasons. We warned him the last time.
