I think we can all agree that as a fan base we have had a season of... reflection. And now Oklahoma guaranteed a spot in the CFP; let's put any expansion talk aside.

I've been telling family, friends, anyone who will listen, and so on that UCF is the best non P5 school and we belong in P5, yada yada yada..

...but this season changes that, and for the better I think. Yes, I will want UCF in a P5. Yes, that would be amazing for the athletic department. But.. as I had an 0-12 season of reflection..I say for the better because we, as a fan base, are always yearning for that next step. It's natural. I am trying to be a realist and say the next step may be years and years away..

The AAC actually isn't that bad. Not bad at all, actually. At one point having four top 25 teams. Houston making noise as an undefeated. Memphis beating some quality opponents. Why don't we get comfy in the AAC for awhile? Currently, there are eight (8) eligible bowl teams. Eight!

Navy has household name recognition. As does Cincy, UCF, ECU, Memphis, Houston...

On the basketball side we also have talent in this conference. Sending 3-4 teams to the dance consistently.

UCF has a disaster of a season. However, it caused me to reflect on the conference as a whole. And as much as I want P5... I am OK with the AAC. In fact; I think the country also respects the conference as well. ESPN and other news outlets have done a lot of talk on the conference. I'm not hearing this out of the mighty MW.

Go UCF. Go AAC.

If we could somehow rework the AAC tv contract to get more money out of ESPN then I'd be ok staying. The AAC champ should have a fairly easy shot at the New Years bowl invite each year.

I've been saying this about the AAC for years. You guys need to pay attention.

No doubt if UCF is not in P5 AAC is the place to be. That does not mean I have to like it. A Much Better TV deal would no doubt lessen the hurt, but not eliminate it. I want UCF playing for both conf and National championships, and right now that can't happen.

When the playoffs expand which will happen once the sec gets left out of one, the ACC champ will have an autobid. Even if it's less money, the AAC will then be the VERY best conference for UCF.
