Although I think he hasn't registered for an UCF class in a couple of years now, it's still cool to see Apopka-native Jordan Taylor bring home the 1st place finish from Le Mans after several attempts.

The podium shot ...

Kinda cool story about Jordan and Oliver (middle) there ...

"In the GTE Pro class, Corvette Racing fought back in admirable fashion from the disaster of having to pull its No. 64 car from the race after Jan Magnussen's violent Porsche Curves crash on Thursday evening.

The determination shown by Doug Fehan and his team deserves special mention, as Tommy Milner and Jordan Taylor fought tooth-and-nail in the sole remaining No. 63 machine with the Aston Martins and the No. 51 AF Corse Ferrari to claim Corvette's eighth GT class win at La Sarthe.

Oliver Gavin, who has competed for the team in the 24 Hours every year since 2002 and picked up his fifth class win on Sunday, has grown into a true Le Mans legend now, but was still less than amused pre-race when reminded that his current team mate Jordan Taylor had attended Gavin's first Le Mans for Corvette in 2002 and asked for his autograph as an 11-year-old!"

As much as I love me some UCF, I completed missed this while going ape shit over Porsche finishing 1 and 2 in the P1 class and beating our Audi in only their second year back in top class competition.

It was nice to see their 17 year drought ended. When Porsche wants to do something, they can do it ... and win. But Porsche is owned by VW, explaining why they didn't do it all those years, just like Corvette is GM (don't get me started on GM's stupidity, especially pre-bailout, let alone outlawed even any independent racing for 40 years). So it's one of those things that it's not a matter of "if," but "why"?

I.e., practicality often wins out, which is why Porsche doesn't throw a lot of money at motorsport outside of their production vehicles, like the 911.

It's still cool to experience Le Mans, both the high-end, factory-backed prototypes, as well as the independent, Pro-Am GTs. But the former is really a tall order, closing in on F1 type costs, and why you don't see GM and Porsche throwing a lot of money outside of the production-based GTs.

Which goes back to why sports car racing in the US is a focal point for manufacturers, and production-based racing, and even had a sizable fanbase in Europe (especially in the ALMS days) ... at least until recently thanx to NASCAR doing everything it can to ruin it via TUDOR (but that's another story).

I really miss P1 at Sebring. And I'm not alone. But NASCAR is running high-end, production-based, GT sports car racing in the US into the ground as fast as it can, and has long dissed all the high-end prototypes.

TLDR dick face laser-head. Nobody gives a shit about your nascar crap.
Le Mans is not NASCAR. It's French ACO sanctioned, and FIA spec. Although here in the US, who knows for how much longer, thanx to NASCAR Holdings taking control of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) 2 years ago, and running it into the ground so far as TUDOR.

But if it's your intention to showcase how ignorant you are in every thread I post in ... you're doing quite well. ;)

EDIT:

I'll just add in this poll: Which of the following series have put on the best races in 2015?
http://bites.tv/FoxSports/which-of-the-following-series-have-put-on-the-best-races-in-2015

FIA WEC and TUDOR are 1-2 at 36% and 23%, respective, while NASCAR is way down at only 6%.

TLDR - don't care about your Daytona 500 junk.

BTW calling somebody ignorant is really inappropriate - it shows why people think you are so crass.

Let's see here ... do I watch the Daytona 500 or any other race of NASCAR? FYI, Sports cars are not NASCAR. Again, just one example.

I didn't call you ignorant ... I said if your intent is to showcase your ignorance on many topics where you wish to troll and taunt me, then you've succeed. I've ignored your trolls and taunts in countless threads, out of respect for the board, yet you continue to make them. So I finally decided to answer here.

But let's keep the scrollbar running ... shall we? I'd rather you respond to me in this thread, than the dozen others you have so far, but failed to get a rise out of me. I'm glad your obsessed with me, it makes my day.

My bad on the cars, I just found out that your Le Mans stuff is just a cheap knockoff of Nascar - kinda like Arena Football and the NFL.

But seriously, cool your temper you are reaffirming your reputation as being crass.

I have a temper? If I did, I guess I would have already gone ape given how people like yourself treat me.

In any case, thank you once again for reaffirming your "understanding" of the world.

Seriously, chill out dude. No reason to blow up on people who don't like the same nascar stuff as you. Geez, I guess what everyone says about you at games is true....

Okay, answer me this, instead of dodge and insult, dodge and insult ...

How are NASCAR regulations and specifications related to Sports Car Racing?
... especially Le Mans classifications and FIA specifications?

And I hope you at least know who FIA is. ;)

Stop talking about your cheap wannabe NASCAR crap. You just need to apologize for your crass behavior in this thread.

If you don't you will just continue to have the same reputation at next seasons tailgates.

I now apologize for your ignorance. ;)

You mean my reputation for grilling New York Strip and Porterhouse steaks along with Chicken, stuff Chicken rolls and Chicken Sausages? Cheap meat need not apply for my grill. ;)

I'm talking about your reputation for standing on the bleachers, whining all the time during the games, making crass comments, and blocking the view of everybody else in your section as you stand and take pictures.

Ummm ...
- Haven't brought my camera for so long ... I think it's been more seasons than not
- I'm still fat, blocking out the daylight for half of Florida ... but most everyone around me stands too
- I'm the ass in crass, but the few time I've used the word ... I've only pissed off those who know it to be true
- Actually, my co-season ticket holder is the one who whines ... although I've been known for barking at the refs from time-to-time
- I'm so fat ... if I stood on the bleachers, they'd bend ;)

The 24 hour race condensed into 10+ minutes, plus another 10+ minutes of podium and celebrations.

Jordan is on the podium at 12:30, and you can hear the Anthem in the background.

And yes, McDreamy makes a podium appearance after 15:00 (in the Pro-Am class).
