ALL Big 12 Schools Getting a FULL SHARE

Whoa…if true that is awesome.

I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be like $18m for the first 2 years until the new media rights deal took affect. Kept hearing the new 4 Pac schools were getting full shares from the start, lot of the new schools were a little salty about it. This is big for us.

Keeps Apple out of the picture with those schools in the Big 12... #BargainingChip
Not what I meant. Giving ALL schools, meaning UCF, UH, Cin and BYU and then UU, CU, AZ and ASU full pro-rats shares in 2025 when the 4 G5s were locked in to $18m. Sounds like they upped the money on current deal for the last year of the current contract to be able to offer all the new schools the same money…AND not only that, but give the remaining 8 more money to get to $31.7m since the current tv deal is less than that. Basically, everyone getting more money, and a lot of it.

If this means that UCF is actually going to get the full share (upwards of $50mil with Tourmanents and bowl payouts and succh------sorry aobu tht typing., as bourong anbd soda ar einvolved at the moment), then we need that laszy river, STAT!!!!!

I hear you:

A. Existing B12 presidents needed encouragement to approve applications of AZ, AState, Utah
+
B. Said 3 needed encouragement to exit Pac12
=
C.Linear Media Giants fend off Apple's entry to market... Everyone under ESPN/Fox's control getting more money

$$ is very convincing

I can see inticing the 4 Cornerschools but WHY the 4 newcomers from last year (UCF, UH etc) when we've already agreed to a smaller piece???

It makes no sense.

Charge On ⚔️!

In short: It would be extremely bad business within your conference to provide $$$ to the 4 corner schools and keep the previous schools at the original $. The Big12 has been riding a huge positive momentum wave for 2 years; shafting UCF and the others while rewarding the newest members would not be good for the conference.

It's like a company trying to entice new employees by hiring them at a higher salary than they're currently paying workers who've been with the company a year. NOT a good way to foster warm fuzzies.

Oddly enough, I didn't have a problem with partial share for the first few years.

A) It was the deal that we signed. Whatever happens later, the deal you happily signed, is the deal you signed.

B) You would take the EXACT same deal today. No question about that. If the four corner schools were added first and then BIG12 came to us and said: You want in? The answer would have been HELL YES.

I'm glad they are doing it and we are going to benefit tremendously from it, so I'm happy about it but its all gravy.

I also had no issue with us getting a partial shares for a couple of years and long-time P5 teams from a P5 conference getting full shares.

Complaining otherwise is what I expect from usif myopians.

Nobody was complaining either way. But I doubt the UCF admin cares if causal fans “had no issue” with reduced payouts. If they could negotiate for more then that’s great.

There are complaints upthread, otherwise I agree with you. Try to negotiate for more money without being whiny crap nozzles about it (FSU) or bad partners (FSU and SDSU).

This makes way more sense now. Free tens of millions being thrown around like candy didn’t make any sense. And it’s the deal we signed and would do it again every time.

Sounds like we need to sue Baylor to get not only our money, but the B12 conference championship trophy they owe us [jumpingsmile]
