Anyone else eyeballing Amazon prime day? Prolly gonna be sweet prices.

I am thinking about grabbing some fire sticks for $15 off @ $24 since I don't have any solid easy way to do WatchESPN etc on my TVs. I have a chromecast which is adequate but h8 the lack of a remote & how it eats a device to use it.

that plus walmart's answer to prime day should be a good day to get good deals. Luckily I am on vacation so my wife will only have a limited time to look at those things and save me some serious money from the "Wifey Spend and Save" program.

Ill check it out. I have a Fire Stick i dont use (bought it for a future TV i never bothered to get) but it seems solid enough i guess.

I don't use Amazon all that much, but I've made three orders for various things in the past month. Don't have Prime, so I wait until I need $35 of stuff for the free shipping. Each time, they've been painfully slow to ship. I know it's not guaranteed in two days like Prime, but I made an order last Wednesday and it still hasn't shipped. It seems to me they slow-play orders on purpose to entice people to get Prime. I don't remember it being as bad before.

It depends on if you are buying from Amazon or a 3rd party seller. That is why prime is great because it is guaranteed in stock, the others sometimes aren't in stock even though they are showing stock on the site.

First, I'd recommend you get Prime. It's like $90 for the entire year and it easily pays for itself.

Second, you may have bought a 3rd Party seller item which typically can be slow. It's not handled by Amazon, they just broker the sale via their website. That's why Prime is so good- anything listed as Prime is handled by Amazon and shipping is guaranteed.

In Tampa we have same day shipping now. I ordered something at 11 am yesterday and it was to my door by 7 pm.

I ordered three items all from Amazon for the free 35 shipping two weeks ago. A week later it still hadn't shipped. I canceled it and went to Walmart. I thought it may have been just a mistake but it appears delaying shipment is a tactic.

In this last order, all were Amazon items except for one but it was still FBA (already in a warehouse). The previous two orders were all Amazon. It's just fishy when they wait 3-7 days to ship.

So far I'm pretty disappointed in the sales today. The sale on Kindles is good, but we already have one. They better up their game by the time I get home and have time to add some stuff to my cart. I have $80 in Amazon gift cards burning a hole in my pocket.

Yep, I've yet to pull the trigger on anything. Feels like they're selling a lot of stuff people usually wouldn't buy.

I'm hoping that they're saving the better stuff for later in the afternoon/early evening when they figure people will be more available to browse.

Everything except the Kindles & the Fire Stick is BS IYAM.

PS Love the Wal-Mart Amazon battle resulting in such things as WM lowering the free shipping threshold to $35. Rich they rip Amazon on their little corporate blog but are copying their Prime with their "ShoppingPass" or whatever.

I ordered a big spare battery pack for effer since she stole mine and my phone died after my 16 hour day yesterday that included flying. The price was decent, 10k mAh for the price of the 5k mAh she stole.

Meh, sales are blah.
Also, is the Fire Stick bus powered or does it need a power source (USB, etc) like the Roku Stick?

I bought some Eneloop rechargable batteries too, the only ones that have the life and power too...

You finish the sentence.

Funny story: http://d2b96ra3bt6d2m.cloudfront.net/unsafe/fp/HjHxttrIQH6qheEk1J56 ... Wonder if Barrister was stocking up on the lube? (some of the questions and comments are comedy gold too)

I got the $45 gift cards deal and boarder lands for Xbox one. I wanted the Harry Potter book deals for my son, but they rolled one out every few hours. Overall prime day sucks lol. But prime is well worth it.

Just to add on the pile. I ordered something this afternoon and it already shipped. Of course I paid the 5 bucks for shipping though. Their free shipping is bullshit.

I don't understand. You have Prime, yes? If so then shipping is free- period.

And I don't know if SH is considered "Tampa area" but you're eligible for same day shipping too if so.

It has to be plugged in. I enjoy my fire stick, but I've never had the Roku or Apple tv to compare it to.
I have both an Apple TV and a Roku 3. The Apple TV is older so the Roku 3 beats it in performance, plus it has Sling. But AirPlay on Apple TV is awesome and there's more content on some of the same apps. For example, MLS Live on Roku only lets you watch games, while on Apple TV, it's got news and other things.

I didn't buy anything. Nothing seemed like such a good deal for me that I had to get it. Same with Walmart. I know a couple Amazon addicts that said that Prime day was very disappointing.

Again except the for the fire stick & the kindles (less so) the deals were pretty much fair to a token 10-15% lower.

Thought it was cool they had a % claimed so you could easily see what people thought was a deal vs sucked nuts.

No, no Prime. I cancelled it so I'd stop buying stuff and just figured I go the route $35 free shipping thing and that blows.

Some may not realize it, but two underrated amazon aspects are:

1 Prime Music - great for when I don't want commercials from pandora & spotify

2 amazon smile - use smile.amazon.com instead of amazon.com to have 0.5% of purchases to the charity of your choice, I chose University of Central Florida. My racist (redundant) right wing nutjob has Florida Carry.

So what I'm getting out of this is that #PrimeDay is some sort of postmodern experiment to see if disappointment can be quantified.

If anyone is looking for a folding Coleman grill for tailgating season, $99.99 seems like a good deal. I'm holding out for a good, loud, Bluetooth speaker.

You should know that she is taking the new battery pack and you are getting the old one back

Ordered aabout $100 worth of stuff last Tuesday. Got it yesterday with standard free shipping. I don't think I've ever waited more than a week for something with standard plebe free shipping, but maybe I am just blessed.

If there is a choice, I can't rock with the standard shipping anymore. I next day everything, if not same day.

The hell did you order, plutonium?
