Dallas newspaper:
If the American Athletic Conference decides to leave its current home -- a topic that conference officials have been considering -- then the league's new headquarters will likely be in the Dallas area.
The American's potential move was a persistent rumor among attendees of the Division IA Athletic Directors' meetings on Monday and Tuesday at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center.
Chuck Sullivan, assistant commissioner (communications) for the American, confirmed that league officials are exploring a possible relocation but said a decision was not imminent. He said if the American decides to leave Providence, R.I., "Dallas would probably be at the top of the list."
