Americans less accepting of LGBT people

But seriously...

It likely has to do with all the faux raging. Some people think LGBT should fall on party lines, so just like any other issue when the other side is constantly bashing them in the face with it, they get sick of it and start seeing it negatively.

I was half kidding. In all seriousness - it likely has more to do with everyone just being a bit more vocal and up in arms about how they feel about things right now. Homies were more placid a few years ago.

Ummm, going from 53% down to 49% is within the margin of error of these typical, pool-limited survey. Don't be surprised if it's 55%+ next year. In any case, the US was often behind most, but not all, EU nations. So I fully expect the US to be 1-2 decades behind the EU in acceptance.

Although one thing that has been a setback to the LGBT community was President Obama commuting Manning's sentence. I warned my LGBT friends not to support any such notion, and several agreed with me. The backlash was heavy, and still is, even by pro-LGBT individuals, but definitely by those that argue 'special privilege.'
