You are so right. The first gen covid DID kill all those people. OMICRON variant has , the last time I checked, killed A guy in Texas. The original strain is no longer with us and the dominate strain is now mostly the sniffles and harmless .

The original covid is so 2020 and now going into 2022 the current one is mild . we should start acting like it as a society and culture. Its time to stop the insanity and acting like omicron is a killer when the data says otherwise. All the follow the science people need to wake up and follow the science and see the mutation amongst us is actually a good sign that we are likely facing the end of covid pandemic .

I think we need a few more weeks to see the type of effect it is having here. Even if it doesn't turn out to be the killer the original variant was, doesn't mean a bunch of people won't get sick an hospitals won't get over run. Just because people don't die doesn't mean it's not bad.

Projections I've heard are that case rates are going to be the highest ever. I hope they're wrong
