Another Auburn Coach

Chizik would be a huge upgrade for us.
If memory serves correct we had a good defense under him
Chizik and UCF are schematically adaptable. He could theoretically replace Addison Williams as cornerbacks coach, co-coordinator, and assistant head coach. UCF could retain the remainder of its defensive staff.

David Gibbs would object, initially, but go along with the move because the two's schemes are compatible.

The forner UCF defensive coordinator made $1,035,000 during his final season at Chapel Hill. His two-year contract was set to expire in less than two months (Feb. 29, 2024).

Below is a VERY in-depth analysis on Chizik's defensive philosophy, scheme, and approach. The article is very blunt and contains much unflattering truth about Chizik.

In short, however, it is a marriage that could work.

Omitted from the article is Chizik's foundational coaching philosophies came from studying Tampa Bay head coach Tony Dungy. Chizik spent a lot of time learning the intricacies of Tampa 2 coverage from the Bucs coaching staff during his time at UCF.

But I seriously do not know whether Gus would want Chizik on his staff or whether Chizik could stomach working for Gus.
