Another government handout - $16 Billion dollars in welfare

Historically the GOP run up the deficit and democrats begin to reign them in after assuming office. It’s almost like massive tax cuts to the wealthy combined with record spending is not good for a balanced budget. Oh well. When it’s election season they will blame democrats in the face of all evidence.

I guess I can see your side. Growing food has nothing to do with govt handouts since the less fortunate only eat processed foods. No wonder libs are outraged. Another solid take by a solid poster. Well done, Ninja.

Classy, personal attacks when you've been embarrassed yet again for being a partisan hack.

Nothing about this is going to change how much food we produce. All it does is delay the inevitable. Huge corporate farmers have been consolidating land for years. The 1000 acre farmer who spent too much of their profits on overpriced equipment, new houses, speedboats just got a few more years to live the dream. It all has to come to an end eventually and the 30,000 acre farmer with private contracts will keep buying up land. Its just a matter of how long until the family farm is gone.

Leave it to the nebraska guy to go in depth on the intricacies of farming. Could you be any more cliche?

I can try.......

I live smack dab in the middle of the most productive 1500 sqaure miles of farmland in the world. What would you like to know? If i recall correctly, 5 of the top 10 recipients of farm subsidies live within 10 miles of me. I can tell you a hell of a lot about how things work around here, and quite honestly its more than a little bit disturbing.

Yet another bailout, thanks to our asinine trade war. Hooray for the welfare state!

Trillion dollar deficit, tens of billions in welfare. This is the worst Democrat we've ever had in the White House.
NINJA! Yeah man, the frump admin is slicing and cutting taxes, killing farm trade, and just writing checks to make up for it. Just plunge us into debt and devalue currency. Wages haven't gone up significantly like the trickle down fake is supposed to work. Hmmm.

The trump administration is doing exactly zero to devalue our currency. Where you came up with that fallacy is completely bogus.

You are ignoring the part that tarrifs are a big reason they needed help in the first place.

My wife's family are farmers. The big farm has appx 1,500 arable acreage with another 500+ pasture/hayfields. It's located 2 hours north of Cincy on the Indiana border. Talk to them and they believe all is good and the future is bright and my kids (and my kids kids) can/may work/own it. Probably important to note that my wife is 1 of 10...big farm family.

Their margins continue to increase while local farmland is rising in value. When visiting, read and hear stories of another family leaving the city and a desk job in hopes of farm success. Very happy for them and the people in the area....great folks.

For them and their specific crops, proximity helps a lot. Almost everything is sold and consumed locally. The farm to table / local movement has benefited them. Little fun fact, Farm to Table also pertains to local feed sold to local livestock.
