Only the best people. Chalk up another one. Let’s see we got Manafort, Cohen, Gates, Stone, Flynn, and Bannon who were a part of Trumps leadership team and have now been criminally indicted. I’m sure I’m missing someone.

And Trump fired every one of them.

I'm betting trumps hires have a higher conviction rate than the American public, and certainly more than immigrants.

Who hired them?
Trump did. Clearly he has issues with reading people's intentions out of the gate. It makes me wonder what about him is so impressionable that he hires questionable characters but then recognizes it later and fires them. I take Flynn out of the equation on this one, because he was sketchy from the get-go and everybody knew it but actually didn't do anything wrong after trump brought him on board, but he still fired the guy. Public perception? Political liability?

Because they say nice things about Trump.

Clearly, but the question is "why does that matter to him so much?". What makes a person that has been about as successful as a person can be in all kinds of ways still look for validation from others? I keep going back to thinking he has daddy issues but most people grow out of that, men in particular.

The key to survival in Trump land has less to do with criminality and more to do with navigating the line between constantly kissing Trump's ass while being careful never to outshine the Boss in the public's eye.
And yet we have guys like Barr that have publicly rebuked him but are still there.

It’s hard to know the exact cause though. Could have been some childhood trauma.

Successful? What was Donald without daddy bankrolling him for decades?

Not much.

Congrats on The Apprentice, I guess?

U serious Clark? Like him or not, he has succeeded in real estate, succeeded in media, and is currently the most powerful man in the world.

He’s one of the world’s best self-promoters — and a great example of the Peter principle at work. He’s in way over his head — and everybody except his blind minions knows it.

[laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing] You can't make this stuff up. FRUMP = LOSER

I really dont think he's a narcissist by the clinical definition. Narcissists don't need validation in the way that trump does. Hes very unique. I think you are right about childhood trauma, something happened to him that led to the defense mechanisms he displays. Whats weird is how his brother turned to alcoholism and substance abuse but he went the opposite direction. They probably experienced the same thing but went in opposite directions

I mean, it's kind of hard not to be successful when your dad gives you tens of millions of dollars in 1980's dollars.

Many of his companies still went bankrupt in the late 1990s.

He survived by stiffing a lot of people out of their money and getting bailed out by Russian oligarchs when all the American and European banks turned his lying ass down.

How about 450 million?
450 in today’s dollars. Around 60 million in 1975 dollars. NYC housing market has increased by more than 1000% since 1975 as well. So while real estate investment in hindsight was savvy, it’s not like he was shark tanking it. If you had 60 mil to drop into real estate in the 70s it would be hard not to be a multi billionaire in 2020.

Yes, I should have added that. And the loans from his father came not just in 1975, but throughout the old man's life until he died, basically.

For some perspective, Steinbrenner paid 8 million for the Yankees in the early 1970s.

I love when people obsessively search for reasons as to why turning a few million into a billion is proof that the person is a failure. And then assuring us that they’re not full of obsessive rage and irrational hatred.

We all know it was $60 million minimum in 1970's dollar.

Why do you continue to lie and call it a few million? Oh, because it's the only way your insane talking points can hold any water.

Don't get me wrong, he definitely has narcissistic traits. Quite honestly we all do to a certain extent. I think what we see in him is an underdeveloped ego. Trump is more petulant than sociopathic.

Lots of jealous and envious wannabes in this thread. Add that to TDS

That’s a bold statement. The guy inherited wealth but there is more to life than being rich. Like having healthy relationships with friends and family. I wouldn’t change that for a slew of yes men and a wife that won’t look at me because I cheated on her with a pornstar.

The guy has been happily married to a classy ex-supermodel for 14 years and has close family relationships. How long have you been married?

He had an alleged affair in 2006. Yes.., 14 years ago.

Let me get this straight. You think he has been happily married for 14 years and cheated on his wife 14 years ago while she was pregnant? And you think those two things are both simultaneously true? I mean sure, if you say so.

If you can show me evidence that his marriage is any WORSE than the average marriage in America then fine

The average marriage in America ends in divorce...as did his first 2. But circling around to the original statement, no I don’t envy someone in his mid 70s with a 3rd wife who he cheated on and won’t hold his hand in public just because he was born on 3rd base. I also don’t envy anyone that chooses to be president.

Lmao trump married a trashy ass pornstar. I mean for Gods sakes the current FLOTUS' tits are on the internet for anyone to see.

But yeah they are super in love. Hence why she swats his hands away from his whenever he tries to grab it.
