I am not expecting confirmation until National Signing Day, but a source close to Jacksonville (Fla.) OL Jordan Johnson tells me that he has informed the schools of his decision and that decision will be UCF. Georgia Tech is definitely out.
Johnson visited UCF the weekend of Jan. 15, though he didn't arrive until late that Saturday night because he had a wrestling tournament earlier in the afternoon. He visited Georgia Southern Jan. 22 and then Georgia Tech this past weekend. He had previously been committed to the Yellow Jackets.
I am not sure whether this is the recruit Frost and the other coaches were referencing earlier, but it would fit because they indicated offense (#UCFast) and the word "big" was used.
Virginia Tech was attempting to become a player in his recruitment and had hoped to land a visit.
I'm waiting to hear back from Johnson as far as his timeframe for an announcement. I would anticipate he would keep things close to the vest with media until he "picks the hat" (or whatever he chooses to do).
I feel confident in my source - he is close with someone who would have direct knowledge of the decision.
