WHO is ****ed up but they do a lot of good too. This is a stunt. The reason he gave was bullshit since he did the same thing as them, praising China's transparency.
Trump said the same thing the WHO did.
They also help prevent spread of diseases like polio in poor nations. A healthy global population is important to a healthy America. This is a stunt distraction from his own failings and he'll end up funding them.

WHO needs an overhaul before taking our money. The fact that they can't condemn China is a complete joke. China keeps starting these terrible virus. They didn't fully disclose the extent of the issue and is now a global issue.
WHO in late January said there was little risk with the virus. Maybe if they received complete information from China that would help.

Either he didn't know at that time that China had obscured the seriousness of the virus while concurrently stopping the flow of medical supplies out of their country or he did know and praising them was part of a strategy to get them to open that stuff back up.
