Another WR commit looking elsewhere

So what's the deal with these WR defections? 17 year olds just being impetuous?

If you want to make a name for yourself, why wouldn't you want to go to place where they sling the ball? How many UCF wide receivers have ended up playing in the NFL or CFL?

That’s our two best wr commits imo. Need to keep them especially after losing Sammy brown last year.

We have 4 WRs committed and are still sending out offers to others who play the same position. That could possibly be the cause of our current wide receiver commits feeling at risk and needing to keep their options open.

If they already verbally committed then who cares what other offers the school sends out. You're in. You just have to earn a spot on the field. You can always transfer out later if you can't seem to crack the 2-deep.

Unfortunately an "official offer" and their verbal commitment aren't binding for either side of the agreement. That said I dont think theres a chance he thinks his offer will be rescinded.

An offer has many stipulations. You first off must qualify, can’t get into trouble, say stupid things on social media and other ethical scenarios. Our offers also may have a deadline. Say yes in 14 days or less and you’re offer is valid, if you wait longer you may bo longer have the offer. As other guy said, still not a contract until LOI is signed and received.

Might have to do with some of the other conference's players threatening to sit out this season. If a P5 player sits out due to COVID then that might make some coaches start looking to fill that slot for '21.

I wonder if we’ll also lose commits due to us not playing P5 schools because of the virus. That reduction of exposure might play into the mindset of some of these recruits who would have chosen us over a P5 school.
