Any recent updates on Holman's condition?

Updates on his condition?? Yes.

He's still a bad case of inaccuratitis
and it's not supposed to get better anytime soon. Frost said that Justin is
working hard to get better, but it may be an incurable disease
His 1st half stat line so far this season is a buzzkill for this offense that relies on getting that first 1st down to get the tempo going.

Completions 9
Attempts 28
Yards 47
Completion % 32.1
YPA 1.68
Long 13
TDs 0
INTs 0
Sacks 4
Rating 46.2

I have liked his pump fakes, something he's developed as a senior. Been one of his only successful tactics. But the Michigan rush caught him in mid-pump, and often he'd have done better going with his primary receiver.

I'm waiting to see the Frost offense......

Last game it looked like SMU offense when GOL's friend was there. No huddle and offense
just standing around looking over to the sidelines before finally running the play.

I really hate the looking over for a chicken or pie style offense. I don't know what the front page article says, but count me among the converted- if Frost thinks Milton is ready- GO MILTON!

Good one Mike!

I think Coach will fix some of the kicking game mistakes.

QB is the big question right now. It's only the most important position on the field! :)

Some on this board literally blame Justin Holman for everything that goes wrong on any given series. It make no sense. Have you forgotten that the line needs to protect and the receivers need to run accurate routes. Or have you forgotten that we are playing 2 true freshman RB's who aren't ready to consistently block at this level yet. We only have one proven receiver from last year and that's Trequan and he doesn't even have big time speed. Every player almost on this roster is just unproven talent and you look at Justin like he's the savior of the team.

Other players need to step up, block better, make the difficult catch, stopping letting receivers get by the DB's, play better in space, defense needs to create more turnovers.

We have all seen that when Justin has time to throw the ball he can deliver. Now I know that the run is our bread and butter but if the line can't block in pass protection and a team takes away our run game we are screwed.

If we switched QB's with Michigan last week with their pass protection I think the score would have been similar plus Justin can run and their QB was statue in the pocket.

I'm not saying that Justin doesn't have his faults cause he does. But really good teams learn how compensate when their best QB option might be adjusting to a new offense. And please forget about Milton having an impact this year. He's not ready yet. He might look ok in practice but that's not a game. I hope that he turns out to be a good QB for us but he didn't play against any real competition in high school that would prepare him to start day 1 at this level in my opinion. Hawaii only produces a handful of D1 players each year. If Milton is forced into playing now this season is over before it starts.

Holman gives us the best shot to beat Maryland, period. So I hope he can play tomorrow.

After 2 games, Holman is 9th worst in QBR out of 129. Ironically, there are two schools in the American with even worse QB's: Temple's Phillip Walker is second from the bottom, and Tulsa's Dane Evans is the 5th worst. On the other hand, ECU, Houston, and USF have QBs in the top 25. In fact, five of the 12 schools with the lowest completion percentages are from the American! Ouch.

You may have to wait a year or 2. Needs his type of players. He is slowing down the pace to match the players ability.

It appears that MIlton and Holman have different skill sets. Holman may possibly be faster running when given a straight line opening, but Milton is far more decisive and elusive in the backfield, which are the critical tools in avoiding a rush. With our current line, these can be more useful skills.

Also, Holman may have the stronger arm, but Milton seems more accurate and also is better at passing while on the run.

Based on the current circumstances that our QBs find themselves in these days,i.e. dodging blitzes and on the run, maybe Milton's skills are more likely to lead to successful plays.

Basically you are saying that everyone needs to step up their game to make Holman look great again like in 2014. To play better to make up for his inaccurate passing, inconsistancy, lack of confidence and poor touch?

The QB is the most important player on the field. Make something happen out of nothing a few times. Extend a play. Let us say "wow, now that was a wonderfully thrown ball!"

It's like politics "4 more years of this?
I've seen enough"

In this case, it's 10 more games thankfully.

They aren't slowing down because of ability. It's because they don't trust Holman to make the right call . First few series are scripted so it's less looking over at sideline. After that they hurry to line and then look over for play call so the defense doesn't change personnel.
