AOC threatens to kill bipartisan infrastructure bill if rest not added later.

Adding trillions to the deficit to line the pockets of the ultra-wealthy is totally cool, but adding to the deficit to actually benefit normal people, including yourself, is bad.

You guys are idiots.

we simy need a constitutional amendment prohibting bills that take on more than one item at a time. This horse trading nonsense is garbage. We should demand single issue bills. Period.
No, we need a Gary Johnson type Republican or (more unlikely) Democratic candidate who will utterly put both parties in their place and restore sanity with an unrelenting load of hundreds of Vetos for many weeks from Day 1, just like he did in New Mexico. But the American people will never see one because the GOP and DNC control who is invited during the primaries. That's why Johnson had to leave the GOP, despite his polling numbers.

perhaps. We don't have any real debate of fiscal policy anymore . They just pack so many things into these super bills and dare the other side to vote against it. When the bill funds minorities or kids or some woke group of the month and if anybody votes against the bill because of the provision or many other like it ,then the media and social media spin it, why so hate that group?

If you vote against spending $5 trillion dollars you're a racist . So, nobody wants to stand up for the insanity of the spending or the debt it is putting us into because of this nonsense.
Infrastructure is roads, bridges, ports, airports and stuff like that. It's not day care for toddlers or affordable housing or any of that other stuff. Have that debate on those things separate from transportation.

I am still in favor of single issue bills and while we are at it, they need to be 10 pages or less so we the people can read them and voice our concerns before they get passed.no more if you want to know what's in it you have to pass it. I also can't stand how everything is fricken emergency and it's dire to get it passed now. no it's not. Our governance just sucks.

Funny how they wait until the day before the emergency vote to release a 10,000 page bill out of committee.

I say there should be 1 day of review for every page, with no more than 10 bills scheduled for vote on any given day.

As I said... we desperately need a Gary Johnson type of executive.

Guess you've never heard of "human infrastructure."

Deal with it:

It occurs to me that there would be more really good jobs for minorities if all the white 2-worker families weren't so damn greedy in taking up 2 good jobs. We should outlaw white married couples both working and then there would be plenty of opportunity for everyone.

You're unhinged.

How many of your wife's coworkers were at the insurrection on 1/6? Seems like a bunch of Central Florida LEO were there.

No one from her squad or any details she works was at the rally. I do know a LEO who has been charged who I thought was a pretty good guy and not any kind of militant perso. The news reports describe his association with the Proud Boys as being militant white supremacist but he never showed any of that in his work or the private times we saw him. Then you see one of the wives saying the group was just bible study and hanging out and even some charity work and, combining that with what little I knew of the guy, it makes it hard to reconcile the news reports.

There were hundreds of thousands of people at that rally. The overwhelming majority of those people were entirely peaceful. Some of those entirely peaceful people crossed a boundary line that they didn’t even know existed and are being charged federally and smeared even though they didn’t even get close to going into any building.

Im going to say it again: people that committed crimes need to be charged. But the media and politicization of this one event is way over the top and is designed explicitly for 2 reasons: 1. To give Congress a crisis to push legislation and 2. As an ongoing whipping post to throw at the GOP and Trump particularly.

I'm thinking some of the folks of color in your community that dealt with him might respectfully disagree. :)

Hundreds of thousands???!? Try 20 to 30K

For some strange reason, I'm thinking if a bunch of Hillary-supporting, Black Antifa militants had broken into the Capitol to stop Congress from certifying Trump's EC victory, you and your buddies here would be singing A MUCH DIFFERENT TUNE about the whole thing. You know it and I know it.

From what I understand, he didn't have any complaints against him and no one from his squad that I knew ever complained. But you go right ahead make your assumptions to fit your biases. It's worked out so well for you in the past.

I thought that I'd read and seen pictures with more than that. If not, my mistake.

I know people who went to the rally and then went back to the hotel after Trump spoke and didn't know that the rest was going on. So, yes, this actually happened.

Yeah, I'm sure a Proud Boys/White Supremist on your force had a spotless record. :)

They were arrested???!? Hard to believe anybody got arrested 'for nothing.'

Is that your answer to my question? :) :) :)

THAT's your best counter-argument? Christ, that was early 2019 for crying oud loud. (BTW, for the record, in true Trumpian fashion, I WAS TOTALLY EXONERATED!)

Apparently a simple question about how you and your crowd would have responded to 'one single event at the Capitol' if Hillary supporters had pulled the same stupid stunt back in January of 2017 hit home.

But let me guess, our resident 'Benghazi' Bunch certainly wouldn't have been 'over the top' about it, right? ;) :)

I don’t need a counter argument. I was relating some first hand, real-life observations and you answered with ignorant narrative. There’s no sense arguing with someone who doesn’t know what the hell they’re talking about.

Let's review: Your 'first hand, real-life observation' was that 'some entirely peaceful' people you know who attended Trump's January 6th rally:
...crossed a boundary line that they didn’t even know existed and are being charged federally and smeared even though they didn’t even get close to going into any building.
Oooooookay. Go ahead and call me ignorant again, but that there is a steaming load of bullshit.

If people you know attended Trump's rally that day and have subsequently been charged with an offense by the Feds, you'd better believe they damn well know they committed a criminal act. It's no different than the career criminal shouting, "I'm innocent! I didn't do nothing wrong" as he's carted off to jail again.

like when one of your buddies literally shot Steve Scalise?

what happened at the Capitol wasn't enough, and there needs to be more peaceful protests like that.

Actually, that is the ultimate counter-argument.

Proof that no one needs to do anything to get labeled a white supremacist.

What happened Jan 6 was a riot of aprox 250 to 300 unarmed people. And those people should be charged with the crimes they did. If they were in the capitol building they should be charged with breaking in, If they destroyed property or stole it they should be charged, If they were involved in violence they should be charged.

The women who rushed past security and cornered Jeff Flake in the Senate elevator should also have been charged. https://nypost.com/2018/10/01/look-who-was-behind...
Those who broke into federal courthouses and fire bombed police departments last summer should also be charged.
