I do find it odd that a few months ago out of nowhere there was talk about what we would do about NEOs, and then shortly thereafter the question about how we would respond if aliens made contact. Shortly thereafter, again out of nowhere, we are told we need a space force.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but I do think the gov't doesn't tell us everything they know. This just adds to my curiosity.
