Hey going to Atlanta for Memorial Day weekend. Where is the best area to stay at? Dt or midtown? Also, what are some things and restaurants to check out other than coke, Braves, or cnn?

GA Aquarium is worth seeing (especially if you have kids). The only place in the US you can see a whale shark in captivity.
Stone Mountain outside of Atlanta is an awesome place to visit. They have some excellent hotels inside the park as well. You can hike or take a sky lift to the top of the mountain. Play golf on some excellent courses, kayak, boat, fish, or just bike throughout the park. And they have a ton of activities and things for kids to do as well.
One of my favorite dining spots in Atlanta is "il localino". In fact, I'm headed to ATL this week and I'll be making a stop at il localino for dinner.
I usually stay out at Stone Mountain when we go through there because it is separated from the crazy parts of Atlanta. Aquarium is great. There is also a 6 Flags there if you are into that. The zoo has baby pandas if you are into that.
It depends on the experience you want. The downtown area has all the touristy stuff(Coke, Aquarium, MLK site) and a new trolley to get you around the sites. It will be crazy that weekend. Midtown will also be a mess because the Jazz Festival is that weekend. Midtown will have the better restaurants. If you're into good beer bars(and restaurants) Little Five and Downtown Decatur have two of the best in the country (Porter and Brick Store). Anthony Bourdain's layover in ATL is on Netflix if you have it. He visits some of the more popular restaurants (and Clermont lounge). I'd prefer Midtown for the Restaurants and possibly hitting up the Jazz fest at Piedmont park, but I've also done the touristy stuff a good amount.
Dont stay downtown. Go in for the College Football HOF and whatever but no reason to stay dt.
Stay in Midtown. Good bars, great food, good scene.

What's the best sports bar in ATL? Looking for a place to catch the Lightning game tomorrow and Thursday night. ChrisKnight's place will do.
If this is a serious post, than find a taco mac. It's a local chain with great beer selections(bottle and draft) and ok food.
Yep, serious post. I'm staying downtown for a conference but willing to Uber it to midtown, etc.
I've had good experiences at Hudson grill and Taco Mac in midtown. I've never been to the downtown location of either. I've heard some good things about Dantanna's (for an upscale sports bar). Taco mac and Hudson grille are across the street from each other in Midtown (there is also a Vortex down the block with good burgers).

I'll co-sign staying in midtown, it's a better scene. If you really wanna Coke it up then uber it. If you wanna party fratastic head up to Buckhead, I got a good spot for you.

Just find a spot on Bankhead Highway. They'll take real good care of you.
