Stupidest thing I have ever read.
What is so incredibly stupid is the belief that White just appeared on campus and wasn't hired by Hitt to do exactly what he is doing- make changes. I guess everything just happens- O'Leary fired himself, White just appeared on day. Try some thought.
Hitt did great things, but UCF needs to cut ties with the guy. We need a new leader which will happen after the downtown campus is paid for. The fact that you don't realize Hitt is so out of touch (old) with what UCF boosters, fans, and alumni want makes me laugh. We are a young school and need a young leader.
Everything great is thanks to the Citronaut everything bad we attribute to the patch. Hitt is responsible for nothing.
Yea, like the B12 is going to turn down the extra $20 million - $30 million PER YEAR that UCF is worth to take a school in a smaller market that is worth less, and has lower average attendance over the last nine years than UCF has had.

It wasn't. I always look on Hitt as one of the ones who built UCF from the small school I went to to this huge university. But, I'm willing to be convinced otherwise. What has he done the shows it's time for him to go. We know the GOL AD mistake, but that was cleared up quickly. Please no general "out of touch" because he's old, it sounds really stupid. Give examples. I'm honestly asking since I'm not in the area and am ready to agree with you if he is out of touch.
He's got to be thinking of retirement soon, he's the oldest of the presidents.

I like your post so this isn't aimed at you. GOL was an interim AD.... Interim...say it everyone.... In-ter-im...until we hired a new, permanent AD. It's really not that hard to understand. No decisions on coaches, etc... was going to be made until the new, permanent AD was hired and that is exactly what happened. We were just coasting along until Danny White was brought in because there really wasn't another option at the time. I really don't see anything wrong with how everything went down, and I actually think what Hitt did was sound judgement. If we had been 7-5 or something like that or better the only people griping about it would be the same people who wanted to see GOL fired even when we went 12-1. We have a new AD, a bunch of new coaches and on paper these all seem like solid changes. People need to pull the stick out of their @sses.
John Skipper was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from UCF and gave the commencement speech at the College of Business graduation Saturday morning. I thought this could be a great strategy to get all the help we need. Skipper said some great things about UCF and even ended his speech with a "Go Knights, Charge on"

Name any university prez in nation who has had such a positive impact on his school and his metro area economy! I've had my run ins and criticism with the guy, but hand down his continuing record and successful risk taking is unique in America. College presidents are mostly figureheads who take care to protect their phoney-baloney jobs.
So the "old" guy that brought us to national prominence, built a medical school and now a large downtown campus is outta touch. Gotcha.
Yeah but he never bought out FAMU's law school or found a way to keep Wackadoos.
...and don't even get me started about DJs at the stadium. Really what does this guy do?
"They" were all the UF and FSU Alums in the FLA Legislature that did it on purpose because they knew it would stop any chance of the "booming/popular" young University, UCF, from ever being able to start up their own.
Same reason why UF moved their Pharm D program to Lake Nona...as they wanted to stop in the tracks any chance UCF Medical School could ever start up their own Pharmacy/Pharm D program.
"They" all saw Dr Hitt's leadership as a THREAT to their way of life/domination...hence why those leaders from those institutions have made recent decisions to stop UCF's growth to greatness...but I'm glad Dr Hitt has never ever stopped fighting for us. (That doesn't mean one always agrees with all of the thousands and thousands of decisions he has made).
Dr Hitt will obviously not only go down as the greatest UCF President in history...he will probably go down as one of the most influential Univ Presidents ever across the country...as UCF has done more (with less) than any other Univ in history.
Some schools appear to be getting more and more desperate. They must know that they don't stack up well when looking at data points that would be important for expansion.
