If a person burns a police car or station, they are undermining the ability of the government to operate. That, by definition, is a form of sedition. Private property and buildings are a different issue but the argument could be made that it falls within that line.

Hell, the head of Trump's HHS coronavirus effort accused the CDC of sedition this past weekend when their scientists refused to change their data to make it "more reflective of the President's narrative."

Depends what we call protesting. Burning cop cars and looting isn't protesting. Disruption of a business isn't protesting. Shutting down an interstate isn't protesting.
