I noticed some games ending after 7th inning when a team is up by 10.

Against Monmouth, UCF was up more than 10 after the 7th, but game went 9 innings.

Monmouth Coach knew there was a good chance it would happen but wanted to get his kids into playing shape early on. Using it as practice for their conference games.

It has nothing to do with that. There is no run-rule in Monmouth’s conference. And as the home team, there’s no run-rule in the B12 unless it’s a ‘get-away’ day, thus the game wasn’t eligible to end early.

There is a 10-run rule in the AAC, that’s why you saw it Friday/Saturday in Tampa.

some conference have mercy rule in effect for conference games (ACC and SEC). Big 12 does not. For non-conference games teams can decide to have the rule in effect if both coaches agree pregame.

This isn’t true. UCF is not impacted by a rule the AAC has even though usf was at home. For non-conference games it is based on coaches agreeing pregame.
