ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - A four-game road trip for No. 15 UCF concludes on Wednesday at Bethune-Cookman with the first pitch set for 6 p.m. The Knights enter the contest as one of eight teams that have started the year 7-0 or better.
Following wins over No. 11 Maryland, No. 15 Arkansas and host South Alabama, UCF moved up seven slots in the Baseball America Poll. The Knights are also No. 17 in Collegiate Baseball, No. 21 in the NCBWA Poll and No. 23 in D1Baseball.com's rankings.
The 7-0 start is the best since UCF set the program record in 2008 by winning the first eight contests. The program also started 7-0 in 1974 and 1996.
Junior righty Ryan Meyer is set to start for the Knights against Bethune-Cookman. The Oviedo, Fla., native notched the win in the first meeting vs. the Wildcats with 3.0 innings of work and fanning one batter.
