"If you want to be a national brand, you got to be more than two sports programs," Foley on all of the sports.
I couldn't agree more.

I know that Alabama has a top ten Cheerleading team. What? I couldn't tell you if Ohio State is good at any sport other than football. Are they? Does it matter?
If you are elite in FB or BB you will have a national brand. If not you don't. water polo does not matter. Oregon is a perfect example. 15 years ago they were an afterthought. now because of FB uniforms they are not. No one cares what their bowling team does.
Title IX, but yeah, why not cull a bunch of other male sports?SCKnight understands what Foley was trying to say. If only football and basketball matter then why not shut every other sports program down. Why bother. I mean you could save a shit load of money if you had men's and woman's football and basketball. That's it.
I would argue the top sports programs across the country are very good across the board.
Is that some kind of GOL fat joke? Just let it go man.If the above quote came out of Danny White's mouth you guys would be saying he's a god and would want a bronze statue made of him. If all you want is to be known for one sport, then close the rest of them down. Why waist resources.
It is such a shame we don't get to have a men's track team. Join meets wouldn't add to costs much. But Title IX would then force us to add even more women's teams. I'm not asking for a crew team, what with all the gators around. But a gymnastics team -- men and women -- would attract lots of interest, too.Title IX, but yeah, why not cull a bunch of other male sports?

We need a track and swimming/diving team.Adding another varsity scholarship sport (i.e. like Men's track), would mean UCF would have to add another women's varsity sport to keep the Title IX scholarship ratio's in tact.
Sure, it would be great to have a lot of new sports, both men's and women's, but even all the current programs are not close to being funded by donations/ticket sales alone...so UCF is doing the right thing by trying to fund current sports at higher levels (especially marquee programs like Football and Men's Basketball).
