He was out end of season not only for salary cap, but Bolts can't protect both goalies in expansion draft for Vegas team. Assumed this would happen sometime this season once injury bug hit hard. Vasy is heir apparent and is cheaper, gotta save money and goalie they got in return will be good back-up. Can't complain.

This was almost 100% assured to happen once this season went to shit with yet another year of injuries. I've never seen a team get hit so hard with injuries two years in a row. The only way they would have kept him throughout the year is if they were challenging for a 1 seed and looked like a SC contender.

We also now know why Stamkos took less money to stay in TB. He can go on the back of a Milk Carton every season and fans won't get impatient like they would in Toronto.

Losing Boyle probably hurts more than Bishop.

I hated seeing Boyle go. He was such a great leader and was huge in the Playoffs. But Toronto needed a guy for their playoff push and we got a pretty good 25 year old forward in return.
