Excerpt from his column today in The Rag:
Donnie Jones,
who just completed his fifth year as UCF's basketball coach, is now
firmly entrenched on the hot seat. He is coming off back-to-back seasons
of 12-18 and 13-18, including a combined conference record of 9-27. Not
exactly what UCF had in mind when the school fired Kirk Speraw,
the winningest coach in school history. I believe Jones will get one
more year to see if he can turn it around with a highly ranked
recruiting class that includes 7-foot-6 Tacko Fall -
the tallest high school player in America. I also believe Jones will
survive if for no other reason than boosters and fans in the State of
Florida don't care enough about basketball to demand a change.
