"Memo to the delusional segment of the Knights "fan" base: You're UCF; not FSU. The Fiesta Bowl season was an aberration; not an expectation. Your expectation should be to compete for your conference championship every season -- anything above and beyond that is gravy."

Please tell - Why can't UCF be the next TCU or Louisville or Boise? Why can't we as fans expect to reach the next level? Why can't UCF be the next FSU and compete for a national title?

Are you trying to defend Gator turf from dilution? Are you afraid of a 3.5th big in-state program?

(Miami has fallen halfway off the map, so they only count for a half)

Are you just trolling? As of late, I've been listening to your morning show and thought you had sort of moved past this type of stuff...

Or do you have some type of internal conflict going on where you'd genuinely rather try and tear UCF down, rather than build it up?

Totally agree. Bianchi was a total ass for saying this. Gators and Miami aren't what they were and may never be again.

No reason we can't work our way up to big boy status. None. First, we need to get out of this crappy conference.

Gators will be

Miami may / may not. There are some significant institutional issues

No proof they will be anytime soon. They're getting spanked by SEC opponents this year at least. Just wait and see

If we're being realistic, yes the Fiesta Bowl was an aberration. The idea that we'd make a BCS bowl every year while not in a P5 conference is a bit of a stretch goal. We absolutely should have the goal of being able to compete for a national championship, but that's not going to happen until we get into a P5 conference and play a P5 conference schedule. So let's make that happen sooner than later.

Yes.., P5 first. Really not much more to say. Why not Boise?? Probably because the competiton for recruits is too tough here. We lost South Florida

There's definitely a group of recruits around the country who are "intrigued" with Boise after their past early success. I've heard of kids just going there to play on the blue field. I know.., crazy, right? Mostly, coaching, success,
location.

FSU wasn't always FSU. So cut the crap Bianchi. There is room for a Big 3 in the state and right now there is only a Big 1. The opportunity is there. Miami may never come back. UCF fans should want to compete at the highest level of college football. The road to riches should be easier for UCF just because of the schedule. We should be destroying in conference teams and the F_Us.

I mean this is the same guy that Urban Meyer had to get a restraining order against. He acts like a cross between Ben Stiller's Simp,e Jack and a guy with cte.

I did not read the article but the quote makes a point. As UCF fans you should be mad about losing to FIU, but all this business about UCF being the Alabama of the G5 etc.. Is really off base. We should expect to beat FIU but to have complete meltdowns about it like it should be some kind of impossibility is just not reality.

We had one really great year. We have been getting steadily better. We have been getting steadily more consistent. But overall we have not been world beaters.

UF is the flagship university of the 3rd biggest state. It's pretty much impossible for them to stay down for long. It's the same deal at Texas, Michigan, Penn State, etc. All those schools are down right now and they might stay down for a few years, but will eventually buy their way back to success.

Agree on Miami though

With our schedule facilities and recruiting base, we should never lose more than 4 games a year. Seriously.

College Football writers like Mandel have brought up UCF as a Program capable of winning a National Championship in the next 20 years. The campus is centrally located in a Football talent goldmine. Bianchi is a troll that goes with the wind

I went to school with Stuart. He's a smart guy who did well in school.

Choose any schedule from any year you want and find 5 games (excluding the bowl game) that we should lose.

You have severely low expectations. You probably did poorly in school.

Do we really need to go though all of this again?

Let me re-phrase it: The Fiesta Bowl was an aberration and should not be an expectation (hope, yes, but not an expectation). Boise has been to three BCS bowls in its history so it's an aberration for them, too. Boise has a history of taking players with shady backgrounds (see internal investigation going on right now regarding Baylor transfer). There's nothing wrong with being disappointed and mad after a loss, but to continually call for your coach's firing is laughable.

Not calling for a firing, but there's no excuse for those last 4 plays. None. Shouldn't be talking about a loss. Should be talking about an ugly win at the end. I would have taken the W. Now we are left 0-1 losing to a very average
(Not terrible) team at best. Not sure why we can't figure out who to start at key positions for the first game for 2 years in a row. One fan said it best. "What secrets does Luke Adams know about GOL."

I agree i dont expect UCF to be in a BCS or access bowl every year but we need to improve on our wins against P5 teams. We only had one great year which was 2013. I'll except what we did in 2010 and 2011 - although that was a 5-7 season - anyone remember Southern Miss upsetting FSU 30-26 but ended up with a losing season? that was the day the put them on the map in my mind - but we need to be more consistent with that. When its not happening, when our opportunities come and go - such as last second loss to Penn State and bowl loss to young NC State team whose record is worse than ours - and for that reason non-UCF followers dont view us in the same level as Utah, TCU or Boise, then losing to FIU at home solidifies that opinion.

UF started playing football back in the early
UF is the flagship university of the 3rd biggest state. It's pretty much impossible for them to stay down for long. It's the same deal at Texas, Michigan, Penn State, etc. All those schools are down right now and they might stay down for a few years, but will eventually buy their way back to success.

Agree on Miami though

UF started playing football back in the early 1900s. They weren't relevent until the early 1990s and squeaked by on a NC in 1996. Why woiuld they be relevant just because they're in the 3rd biggest state?

The success of UF for the next 3-5 years will depend nearly 100% on the head coach and little else. Flagship university and state size have nothing to do with on the field success. Just like UCF enrollment numbers

The state got larger.

We expect to beat FIU at home any season in which that matchup takes place. That's not "thinking we're FSU." That's where the program needs to be in order to continue moving forward. It was a step backwards, make no mistake about it. Fans should be outraged - and have been. That's good. It means people care and actually have expectations. I don't think consistently beating FIU is a delusional expectation for UCF. Nevertheless, I think calling for firings is premature. GOL led teams have done similar things in the past and bounced back to continue pushing the program forward. Sometimes it took until the next season to accomplish that next push. There are opportunities to quickly recoup the losses incurred, but the performance was so uninspired on Thursday night that it is difficult to fathom how a team so woefully incompetent against FIU at home can go on the road and compete with the likes of Stanford, South Carolina, Cincinnati, and Temple this season. The team was pushed around in the trenches on both sides of the ball and the play calling appeared timid in our own house. Let that sink in. If that doesn't piss you off, then you probably don't care much about the state of this program.

We have one of those opportunities to get things back on track tonight. As a fan and alumnus, not unlike a fool, once a foot kicks that ball off I'm going to be believing again that we can win this one, or at least put together a performance that we can be proud of even if it doesn't result in a W. Let the healing begin.

You haven't really said anything different by "rephrasing", and you haven't addressed any of the questions I asked.

If you wanted to make a point about the coach, you could have just said he's had his down years but always seems to come back with something even better. On the point of buffoons calling for GOL's head, we agree. But instead of doing that, you took a dig at the program and its direction with the whole "aberration" nonsense.

We as fans expect the program to reach new heights. We expect to be in the championship playoff and we expect to be the next FSU (or UF) and win a national title.

Don't tell us what we can't do.
