UCF hiring of Johnny Dawkins doesn't have panache of Scott Frost selection
Hopefully, Johnny Dawkins will someday morph into his mentor and become UCF's version of Coach K, but right now the K stands for "Konfusing" and "Konfounding."
New Athletics Director Danny White's hiring of Dawkins, the former Duke player and longtime top assistant under Mike Krzyzewski, has a completely different feel than White's recent selection of new football coach Scott Frost.
When Frost, the hot young offensive coordinator from Oregon, was hired, my first reaction was, "How did UCF get him?"
With Dawkins, the recently fired veteran coach at Stanford, my first reaction was, "Why would UCF want him?"
