I know we are heading Big 12 and our football will do very well. But Big 12 is no joke in Basketball. Kansas is a super power in MBB and Baylor just won the National Championship last year. Plus our old conference mate Houston, who made the Final Four. And BYU is a regular NCAA tournament team. How can we compete in the Big 12 for our MBB and WBB?
Our coaches are in a small offices and our equipment facility is just one room. Our MBB has a court inside the Venue to practice and so is the WBB. The weight room is extremely small compared to football and our locker room needs refinement.
I visited UF before I chose UCF to finish my degree, they have a building dedicated to their past football and basketball success plus they have a HOF room with all the trophies and such. Why can't we have things like this? If, if we are the best athletic program in the state of Florida.
I know we are going to have a massive upgrade over our facilities, especially the Football Village. And also I believe our Basketball Venue is going to get upgraded also with a brand new entry.
The one of the biggest cons against UCF is that we don't have a good MBB program. We made NCAA Tournament once recently and we only have 1 win in the NCAA tournament in our entire history.
Despite that, I also know that for a fact, UCF MBB is going to have a much bigger budget, especially on coaches and recruiting. We have recruited pretty well in the last couple seasons. With Darius Johnson coming to UCF and the four star twin in the next class.
"If My team can execute as well as you do, we might win a national championship" - When Johnny Dawkins was addressing Marching Knights
Also below is our major victories since 2017
"A renovated basketball facility has been in the works for some time, and is actually part of UCF’s facilities vision for the Kenneth G. Dixon Athletics Village.
The new facility would be located in the space between the Venue (the old UCF Arena) and Addition Financial Arena, which is the current location of both basketball offices and the volleyball offices on the second floor, plus locker rooms for men’s soccer and volleyball on the first floor." - UCF Athletic Upgrade Plan
It is coming.
I am hoping for an amazing season. I became a UCFSports fan because of Basketball and I remember the excitement over the past decade since Marcus Jordan and AJ Rompza joined. I have never missed one game and I have worked for UCF MBB for two and half years during my student years at UCF.
Excitement, huh? Yes! It is coming! I know it is a monumental day Friday, which is tomorrow, but also I want that not only for our football team, but also our basketball programs!
Don't forget: Go Knights! Charge On!
