2024 is what most sources are saying. But some have said if AAC teams leaving could negotiate an exit fee, we could start play in 2023. We are an absolute clown show right now. We aren’t even competitive in the AAC, let alone the B12.When do we enter the Big 12 conference? Right now, we are not ready the upgrade in competition.
In time we will be fine. Offense needs to find our nation leading identity again. Big 12 doesnt play much defense. It would be nice to have a top 30 defense to go with at top 5 offense.2024 is what most sources are saying. All good points. I also put 99.9% of the blame on Heupel, who obviously couldn’t recruit and who I believe could care less about UCF so probably put next to no effort into recruiting. In time we will be fine. Right now its hard to see as we are playing our 3rd-5th string RBs, true freshman QB, plus others out, and with a new playbook. All the mistakes are magnifying and compounding.
Defense was a rebuild before the injuries. None of the transfers have been hits. We have to do somthing with scheme here, we wont have the talent for years.
He was just riding the talent that was here for the next payday. That is why I didnt want a young coach who is looking to move on. The success the coaches are having is due to our school and location. All good points. I take it back, Cincinnati just worked our starting D with their 2nd QB freshman and 3rd string RB. The cupboard is bare. We have to up the talent and the coaching. In time we will be fine. Crazy how 2,3,8 players take you from a doormat to a top 25 team2023. We weren't ready in 2019 or 2020 but this team is 2016 level.
9-4 is a clown show? 29 programs have a better record, 7 programs gave the same record, and 94 programs had a worse record.2024 is what most sources are saying. We were 3-3 with a loss to Navy at the time of that post.9-4 is a clown show? 29 programs have a better record, 7 programs gave the same record, and 94 programs had a worse record.
9-4 with a new coach and entirely new staff (again, for the 4th time in 8 years) and the top incoming class we’ve ever had. I know people think a bunch of 4-5 star players are going to come on board while we’re in the AAC but they won’t. We should get a few more but a big step up in recruits just isn’t going to happen. We are rebuilding our roster and once we have Big 12 on our jerseys, that’s when the next level of recruiting should really begin.
Nothing happens overnight. We need Gus to rebuild the foundation of our team so that when you build better classes on top of it, we should blossom (there is never a guarantee that things work out in college football, though, and that is why you relish success when it happens).
Here I was rereading it like it was all new smhWe were 3-3 with a loss to Navy at the time of that post.

Exactly. Trust me, at 9-4 and a Bowl win against the gators, I’m ecstatic about how our season went, especially given our injuries. We were 3-3 with a loss to Navy at the time of that post.

I thought I read our plan is 23 and they already started fund raising plans?I bet we'll hear more about our exit this summer. Since BYU is going in 2023 I would imagine UH and us would try our best to do the same, but for us it's gonna come down to money. I wonder how much the BOT asked for to pay out exit and entrance fees?
When do the new American member schools enter? I would guess this could be used as leverage to negotiate our early exit.I bet we'll hear more about our exit this summer. Is that assuming BIG12 gives new teams full share right from year 1?2023 makes more sense financially. I was doing some math the other day and we could do like a 6 month loan on the penalty money they would ask for leaving the AAC and pay it back and still make more than 7.5 million for being in the AAC. Even if the AAC asked 10 million for leaving early we're going to get an increase in money, the first year in the Big-12. Don't forget that bowl money payoffs should increase in the Big-12 too.
We don’t get full amount for a couple years. Is that assuming BIG12 gives new teams full share right from year 1?
Didn't UCONN pay 10mil to leave in 12months? So is that not precident.Breaking Down AAC Buyouts for Teams Leaving for the Big 12
With three teams leaving for the Big 12, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered. Notably what will the buyout look like and how long it will take to go into effect?www.underdogdynasty.com
With the three teams leaving and it being 20+ months rather than 27 months it stands to reason that instead of $30 Million the payout would be around $40 Million (13 - 13.5 per team).
This is doable but will take some creative financing to span 2 years to make up for the buyout.
Article says 17M i think that was high.Didn't UCONN pay 10mil to leave in 12months? So is that not precident.
Just a down payment, theyre building something bigger and better than the Cowboys stadium in DallasArticle says 17M i think that was high.
If we pay 17M does that mean we built USF's on campus stadium?
Glad someone else was recalling 10M too.My memory is UConn regular exit fee was 10, and they paid 17 to get out of jail early.
Our regular exit is also 10 million, question is how much do we pay to get out 1 year early. Uconn got out 2 years ahead of schedule.
