I am gen x .Grew up in Integrated schools, wrestled in high school and I had friends from all backgrounds, ethnicities and races . I truly think since Obama has been President that race relations are tragically getting worse . We actually believed the stuff from MLK about judging folks by the content of their character and not the color of their skin . Now, that idea is so 1963 and it's systemic racism and all white people are oppressors and everyone else is the victim . We have descended into a bad spot in our history and I largely blame politicians and the media.
Just look at the circus Jussie Smollett created by faking a racial attack and Joe our President and Veep glommed onto it for political gain before a single fact was ever known. The guy gets convicted of 5 felonies for lying to the law about it all and the President and Veep are crickets . Thats all you need to know. They have no principles and play the race card for political power.

And if your response is 'B-B-But Harris made a public comment on the assault,' the answer is: she was commenting on the horrendous circumstances first reported of the alleged assault (which turned out to be false.) Should everybody who initially believed Trump that the election was 'stolen' from him be condemned for believing his nonsense? Or is THAT different?
It's not 'playing the vicitim,' but pointing out that Mass and Social Media Progressivism is now pushing 'segmentation' and 'blame' as the solution. It's actually backfiring. And I'm kinda with Baby Boomer Bill Maher on the problems Progressivism has created in this regard.
'Common sense' is lacking in people like yourself, and your agendas, which is why more and more people, including more and more minorities, are voting GOP.
President Obama pushed the 'microaggressions' argument, and you can see ... he now regrets it. He literally embraced 'cancel culture,' and now realizes that it's demonizing everyday Americans ... not just politicians. But that's what we get for electing Obama, a spoiled, out-of-touch, man from the average American -- black or white.
You can also see this 'difference' when you watch the DNC v. GOP conferences. Although I don't trust the GOP at all, at least they featured countless, everyday, non-celebrity Americans who were utterly demonized and had their lives destroyed by the Mass Media. Even Obama now regrets some aspects of the DNC.
Because once one turns on the DNC, and you have your choice of felons who are not the best 'examples' of why we need 'criminal justice reform.' I mean, don't put up a murderer as a spokesperson, put up someone who had a victimless drug crime instead. The DNC is utterly lacking 'common sense' as of late.
Because JS utterly undermines the BLM movement, which I support. He really does. There are now enough 'false flag' situations by spoiled-rotten celebrities and wealthy, that even Progressive voters are tired of them being in the spotlight. We're all tired of the common American -- black or white -- being demonized.
Anything that comes out of Harris' mouth should be ignored, because there's a good chance she's lying, and has no integrity ... far more than any politician since Al Gore. But that's another story.
Which brings me to ...
The problem is that politicians talk before the facts come out, and if you're a Progressive politician, you get 30+ days of play in the Mass and Social Media, and then never 'challenged' on being wrong ... sans for Fox News, like'em or not, they're the only ones.
If you're a Conservative -- let alone a Libertarian mislabeled as a Conservative -- you're demonized, and you will be nuked, over and over, by Mass and Social Media.
That's a fair argument. But anyone who said such can be fired by their employer for 'bigotry.' It's a pretty poor situation for Conservatives right now.
And why the Progressives are losing voters, not gaining. They lack 'common sense.'

That's the difference between you and I ... I was never a Republican. You only think in Democratic v. Republican and, worse yet, were probably one of those 'Reagan Republicans.'
Of course the Republicans were the party of 'no common sense' for decades. The '80s and, even worse yet, '90s (other than fiscal responsibility) were laughable. The 'family values' party pretty much were hypocrites, with the same rates of divorces and infidelity in the '94 Congressional class by '04 as anyone else over a decade.
But I've always been a Libertarian, officially registered 'No Party' since I was 18. I refuse to join a political party. I have a very George Washington view of DC.
The Democratic Party stopped having much 'common sense' since 2006. And now, in 2020, they are utterly off-the-reservation. Bill Maher, a Democratic voter and a Libertarian-Socialist (not a Libertarian-Capitalist like the American Libertarian party) is on-point when he points this out.

you have to be a little more subtle to make the sweeping claim type humor work. if you go full bore with the "rape little boys" you lose the reader and everyone knows you're being emotional.
here's how you should've responded. you should've owned the part where I called you a little boy. if you take ownership of the insult, its power is diminished and there's inherent humor in you accepting a silly slight like that. this would've allowed you to then make a comment like "why are you talking to little boys on the internet"

that does sound relaxing. what'd you get?
it was pretty good, audience clapped and cheered which ruined some of the better moments but not a waste of $20ish. then went on about an hour roadtrip with the lady to see the tallest Christmas tree in the state. found a decent Mexican spot nearby which was good.
New Smyrna actually has some great restaurants and after being here awhile we can find areas to escape the crowds and be around the locals. The GF and I had the Seafood Gumbo, Blackened Mahi, “dirty” rice and Hush puppies. Split a Key-lime pie and ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio.
I’ll be checking out the movie this week as I’ve only heard great things

The wifey and I saw it last Friday. I was surprised to find it actually lived up to his monumental hype. A lot of fun and some really emotional moments.
