blackout in puerto rico again

This quote from another article on it sums up the issues in PR perfectly.

"In San Juan, officials said a Major League Baseball game between the Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Indians would go on as scheduled Wednesday evening," Adrian reports. "They said the Hiram Bithorn Stadium had been equipped with generators capable of powering every part of the venue for up to 48 hours."

Are you talking about still needing generators 6 months after the storm?
I am guessing the organizers of the game (MLB?) brought in some big generators for the game and they'll be used elsewhere on the island after the game ends. Most people here wanted the game against Georgia Tech played even with half the state without power after Irma because they needed the distraction. PRs love baseball so this game could be an escape for them for 3 hours before going back to the darkness of their homes.

The government paid for this game to happen. All that money could obviously be used elsewhere. Everyone wanted to play GT but it was completely unrealistic with gas shortages and a lot still without power. Most people understood that the recovery was more important than a game that would pull from local police/first responders and we were in a lot better shape a week later than PR is in seven months later.

So, what is the problem? The government decided to pay for the game to happen there (free tickets). Somebody thought that after 7 months the locals needed some kind of distraction and wanted to show that PR is open for business: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/18/sports/baseball/puerto-rico-baseball-blackout.html

and many others weren't happy. Most wanted to kick the NG out of UCF

Wow!!! 10 people out of the hundreds that have Dungeon memberships. Florida and local municipalities had better things to spend money and man power on then just like PR still does. There was no reason to rig up a 20,000 seat stadium to have electricity for 48 hours when businesses and homes across the street were dark.
