The first was written, directed and produced by 5 UCF grads. Arguably a 1) box office hit and 2) not scary and 3) a movie that I thought was horrible. Now we have a sequel.

One of the first viral marketing stories that took off. Never cared for the first movie and the second one was a pile of shite.

First one was great...as they used "old school" movie magic (used mostly sounds which lead to viewers using their own mind to think what might be going on.

Back in the day...well before CGI...the scariest part of movies wasn't what you saw on the screen...it was usually what you didn't see...as your mind would think of the worst/scariest scenario.

Obviously, the non-scripted 1st BW was ground-breaking on so many levels...and it will always be hard to duplicate that magic.

Dude, what kind of crack are you smoking?

The first movie was a poorly taped (definitely wasn't "filmed") jittery camera piece of garbage that gave no credibility whatsoever to the local film industry. Showgirls and most of Ed Wood's films were also considered "groundbreaking," but not in a positive way.

The first movie ends with a guy standing in the corner taking a piss . . . or at least that's what it looked like. I'll take M. Night Shamalayan's worst film over the the original Blair Witch any day.
