I've never seen a QB throw 2 illegal forward passes in one game (consecutive quarters). On top of that they were both 2 yards or more over the line of scrimmage.

Bad decision making is killing him today so far.

Yeah, as I saw the score, I wondered how much of that was Bortle's fault. Not good for Blake :-(

I agree that Blake continues to struggle with his football IQ....but he is improving and continues to mature....I'm just afraid he's going to make every mistake in the QB book (multiple times) before he settles down! and that means that Jax has to have a lot of patience with him....

but today, the loss was 100% on the defense....horrible performance...Rivers made it look easy, like a hot knife cutting through butter....great audibles by Rivers and many times it appeared no one was covering the receiver...on the other hand, almost every pass by Bortles was contested.... great offensive game plan by SD, lousy defensive game plan by Jax....

meh those illegal forward passes were both on 3rd and goal with no shot of getting into the endzone so no real difference than a throwaway. The Jags defense is legit horrible though. Bortles had a td to get them within a score and they proceeded to give up a 80 yard drive that seemed to take 10 minutes off the clock for the Chargers to go up for good.

Jags fans have unrealistic expectations if they think a QB that has to throw the ball 49 times in a game isn't going to throw 1 pick. Take a look at the teams that threw it that many times around the league and you see that Miami threw a pick, Pittsburgh threw 4 picks, the Giants threw 3 picks and the Rams threw 3 picks. Those are the only teams that passed more than Bortles this week. It easy to compare him to guys that go a game without throwing a pick when they pass significantly less. The Jags are the only team that can't overcome a single turnover in 50+ drop backs because their running game is so bad and has only 1 TD all season and their defense is horrible. If Bortles isn't flawless they lose and blame it on his one turnover. Meanwhile when teddy throws a pick but the Vikings hold the damage to a field goal and win with the #1 running game and #2 defense he is leading them to victory.
