Lmao he won't get a job anywhere after this disaster. We've literally watch him suck at every job he's held and it's now compounded by the fact that he's oc. But the good news is that we needed this to happen. We needed him to be exposed to the casual fans as being terrible so we could avoid him destroying this program as hc.

Let's see 2012 offensive line ranked 80th, 2013 81st, 2014 111, this year 129 according to the metrics. But yes continue to talking about dominant lineman.
Link? Torrian Wilson, the Mcrays, and Chris Martin were dominant. I'm not supporting Key just pointing out that these guys were not ranked in the bottom third of college football lines as your "metrics" suggest. Your metrics suck. Show me the data.

I don't know if Key cost us the game and don't really care. We need to turn the page on the entire staff.

Still don't understand the board's obsession with needing to assign blame. Getting rid of Key by himself won't help much.

The offense is the worst unit as a whole I've ever seen try to operate at a level beyond high school football. And there's plenty of experience on it. Holman is a Junior. Rae is a Junior. Tarik Cook is a Senior. Chavis Dickey played all last year. So we've got some young skill position players and a couple of young O-linemen, what college team doesn't??? It's inexcusable to be this bad. No way any other team loses that game being gifted the chances we had. Heads must roll.

Victoryeayucf show me the gd data that suggests UCF's offensive line was ranked in the 80's in 2013. Show it. Show it now or shut your face.

No offense to anyone in particular, but this whole "show me your data" bullsh!t is really getting on my fcuking nerves. Unless the person asking for facts and figures has a full and complete MLA style bibliography and works cited page for every reference they throw out there, let's stop with all this unnecessary B.S.

The 2013 line was very good when it had to be. The Baylor and Louisville games. I don't need any bullshit statistics other than what I saw with my own eyes. If Key was the coach then he had 5 good lineman that he coached and played well for UCF that year.

UCFs offense was last place going into the game with 4.1 yards/play. Tonight? 2.3 yards/play.

This offense is bad on historic levels. To put this in perspective, the year after Marshall lost most of their players and coaching staff in that tragic plane crash... The new rag tag team averaged 3.3 yards/play.

The guy stated that ucf's offensive line was ranked 80th in the country in 2013 based on "metrics." I want to see the freaking data. Why is that hard to ask? Stop making up fake statistics and then getting pissed off when asked to see where the stats come from. Stats and metrics aren't based on an opinion but are based on data. Show me you gd metrics or shut your lying stupid face.

How about correlation to number of players from S Florida?

Your logic is: Torrian Wilson, Chris Martin, and the Mcrays were ranked only 81 in the country based on some metrics because not many players have been recruited from south Florida. Ok. Please don't teach any analytical thinking skills classes.

I don't think it was that good. Blake covered up a lot of problems with the O-Line by scrambling and breaking the pocket when it broke down (which was often). The run blocking was better however.

It was a good line. Storm and Stanback ran all over teams, good teams.

Delusion. That line was solid and dominant. Your bias against Key (who again I am not defending as an OC) is making your brain retarded.

While Brent Key has been a good OL coach up to this season earning nominations for the Broyles award (given annually to the top assistant coaches) in 2012, 2013, and 2014. He was also the recruiting coordinator from 2010-2014, therefore he was responsible for the recruitment of the current players on offense. The O-line last year and this year has been the most visible glaring weakness on an exceedingly underperforming team, last year at least we had excellent talent at the skill positions which helped to bail out the O-line. Coach Key will not be considered for the Broyles award this year, you can bet the farm on it. In addition it is clear he has failed the program during his audition as OC. He should have taken the job as head coach at UAB where the expectations of the fan base were much lower than at UCF. While not a bad position coach, he certainly is not cut out to be either a recruiting coordinator or an Offensive coordinator. Although I must admit he certainly has been Offensive in his role as Offensive coordinator.

It was a solid line but Bortles had games where a clean pocket was rare(USF and Houston). That was part of the reason he rose so high on draft boards bc of how he responded to sacks and chaos around him. I remember the Jags scouting report of him mentioning it

Gotcha cocoa, totally see your point now in this particular case.

We had a decent Oline before 2014. I doubt its dominant but good enough to where coach can shuffle effective RBs and wear down the defense. In 2010, I can recall Ronnie Weaver running hard and shredding through the lines, then Tay Murray dispeling him towards the end of the half and wearing the defense down. Same thing in 2012 although not as effective as in 2013. For all i know maybe the OL coached themselves like they did in Miami lol but until someone says that I think Key should get the credit for that.

As for the Broyles nominee, isnt that sent by the teams coaching staff itself? Its not like he finished in the Top 10 or anything, Coach O'Leary wrote up a recommendation to add him to the list. Thats it.

As for Key being moved to OC, I have mentioned in previous comments that GOL should have kept him as Associate Head Coach while adding responsibilities such as overseeing the coordinators - personally i like the title executive coordinator - and GOL having the final say as needed. Its obvious he's not cut out to be offensive coordinator yet - maybe never will be - but doesn't mean he isnt cut out to oversee the big picture. FWIW GOL liked Key because of his attention to detail. I can imagine those details can be as simple as reminding a receiver to catch the ball first, how to block properly, etc. to details on a macro level when it concerns his coordinators. Unfortunately thanks to GOLs poor decision making, Key's career has probably stalled for good.
