More lies coming from Broward county, and more horrid leadership amongst county leaders. This time the School District.
Summary: PROMISE is a program established to "reduce student arrests" and soften zero tolerance policy. It essentially shields problem students from arrest and prosecution by police, and instead puts them into some after-school discipline program.
The entire Broward School Board for months and months now has lied, saying that Cruz had absolutely no involvement in PROMISE to shield the program from criticism. Afterall, if Cruz had not been in PROMISE, then he almost assuredly would have been arrested and that would have made it easier to have him committed (something local officials also failed to do).
Well- they lied. He was in PROMISE and he was shielded from arrest when he began high school. In fact, the School Superintendent even lied to Marco Rubio who was charged with investigating the role PROMISE had in Cruz's path towards the massacre.
But, remember folks- this is all the NRA's fault. And Rubio's fault.
