Looks like Speedy continues to build on a good impression he made early on in OTAs:

"We like all those young receivers. I mean, how about Rannell Hall out there today? Rannell was making plays left and right. Those rookie receivers, we've got some good young guys. They're going to push those older guys for jobs here."

It was the UCF rookie, after all, who was called the day's "MVP" by Koetter.

Hall appreciated the comment but was careful not to let it go to his head.

"Just the main thing is to come out here every day and progress and get better, do better than yesterday," he said. "Of course there are going to be some M.E.'s and M.A.'s out there, but we want to progress throughout the days of camp, as a whole unit, as a whole offense, and go from there.

"M.E.'s" are mental errors and "M.A.'s" are missed assignments, and they're the two dreaded pitfalls for all players in camp, especially rookies.

GOL is on a roll recruiting and with recent coaching hires. Not to mention the "cardiac knights" pulling out close game after close game with big third down conversions. It doesn't get much better as a UCF fan with two years of back to back solid, exciting seasons. Karma has a way of evening things out in the long run.

Update on Hall's camp:

Former Central Florida WR Rannell Hall slipped through the cracks on draft day this year, but he’s not slipping by unnoticed during Bucs training camp.

Hall has been one of the more impressive pass catchers through early camp workouts, impressive enough to have earned a nickname from teammates and coaches.

“We call him ‘Speedy,’” Bucs coach Lovie Smith said. “And whenever you get a nickname as a free agent coming in, that’s a pretty good thing. So, yes, we have noticed him. And not just today, everyday it seems like he’s doing something.’’

Former UCF WR Rannell Hall turned in one of the better plays of the day when he went into heavy traffic over the middle, leaped up, made the catch of a Winston pass and held on through a tough hit.
