Buffs to Big XII?

I'm not entirely sure we aren't the third best conference already; even without OU and UT. Clemson hasn't been able to run the ball consistently since Etienne left (2020) and it has really hurt their O. FSU might be back. But other than those two teams, not picking a fight with the Miami guy, is there anybody in that conference that you think, man that would be tough out? UNC/ NC State maybe. UVA/Va Tech possibly. Anymore difficult than: Kansas State, Okie State, Baylor, TCU, Cincy, BYU? I don't see it. I purposely left Miami off the list, so as to not upset anybody.

Interesting…MWC gonna say pound sand but still interesting. They must feel pretty confident they would land in either the PAC (if TV deal reached) or Big12.

I would not be opposed to sdsu. Big market, beautiful city, and more eyes.

Nope. Acc is clemson and a bunch of losers. Fsu does appear to be on the way back but im not sure they are a tougher game than okst, kstate, or tcu. We would kick miami’s teeth in which is why they will duck us for the next decade or so

Has to be B12. PAC said they didn’t offer them.

I’m pretty sure they are holding out for P10, their AD has said reject preferred them for obvious reasons. I just don’t know if the P10 would be a better option long term for anyone. If they are struggling to get a tv deal now for suitable revenue, they will crater after UW and Oregon leave which I do think will eventually happen.

Denver media is reporting a divide. CU and Arizona president/chancellor want to remain in PAC. Athletic Directors - and Dion - think it best to go to BIG 12 - Texas, Florida recruiting, football and basketball competition (watch what TCU does to Colorado in the opener) and fan base intensity. PAC wants a media deal that allows SDSU and one other to come on with immediately the same money as being paid to current members so they do not have to dilute the per team pay out. It is all but certain that this is not going to happen.
When a president/chancellor is forced to make a public statement in these late innings of negotiation, listen for this: "The University of - name - is a proud member of the PAC 12 conference, a conference steeped in athletic and academic tradition and success, and we feel a part of that association. However, we will always act in the best interests of the University of - name. When you hear that last qualifier...they gone!!!

I've been following this very closely and the media "experts" are quite divided on what Colorado may do. I'm seeing the majority of writers feel the PAC will sign a deal with enough dough to keep the conference alive for another 5 years, until media deals renegotiate.

Yet there are a few who think Colorado is 2 weeks away from leaving......but we've been hearing this for literally months and months.

Why is anyone 'down' for adding 2 G5s that only split the money UCF gets? The contract is, P5s added, more $$$, G5s added split the 'crap we've already given you'. Add Memphis, less money for UCF, add San Diego St. less money for UCF. Add both and even less for UCF. It's really about time everyone come to realize $$ for conferences has relatively nothing to do with what's on the field. Anyone really going to argue that Vanderbilt is actually worth what they're paid? Neither is most of the 4 schools the Big XII wants. Yes, Memphis and SD St. are probably valuable, but that's not what those with the $$ think are valuable, which is the only thing that matters. Before you whine, just remember, a C-USA team came in and embarrassed not only the BIg East, but also the Big XII. Reality NEVER met $$$$$$. NO to ANY G5, or we become AAC2, and forgotten forever. Not sure why people don't realize this. What, 70% of the P5 conferences are poo, yet NO ONE thinks they are. Memphis fully deserves a P5 designation, yet NO ONE with $$$ thinks they do. NCAA football is all about PERCEPTION, not reality. It hopefully will change when the invitationals are opened up to G5 teams.

Is it not annoying. I've been reading daily on this, and every day where Colorado is 'leaving' you heard another where 'waiting'.... Arizona St. has recently come out and said, "Gee, I didn't even know there were other conferences in existence..." ye- exaggeration, but kind of sounding like the NFL owner 'I have complete confidence in our HC." a week before he fires him.
